“Wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Best ski holiday yet. Hosts most helpful, friendly and relaxed. Beautiful and homely chalet with everything you could need and want - wonderful to have a jacuzzi each night! Delicious and inspiring food and great to watch John the chef in action - dancing and singing during preparation provided additional entertainment! Plan to attempt a few of his recipes at home - he catered brilliantly for both the meat eaters and vegetarians.
Ski lifts and shops only a short walk away.
Morzine very pretty with only traditional houses; be lovely to explore in the summer too.
Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

I'm so glad you had an excellent time and many thanks for the review. Jon is indeed a multitalented man - not only a wizard in the kitchen but singing and dancing at the same time! Too cool for school...
It was a pleasure to have you all to stay, thank you!

We spent a week the end of February in Chalet Ferme. What a great experience! We received a very warm welcome from Antonia and her son. Many of us had never skied so we were appreciative of all the guidance that we received during booking and upon our arrival.

Our group consisted of three families and we fit very well into this chalet. We especially liked the kids entertainment room upstairs! The location was very convenient to ski school, the Super Morzine lift and the Morzine lift. The food was absolutely amazing. A catered chalet is the perfect way to relax a bit on a ski vacation!

Chris and Anna, our chalet hosts were fantastic! Not only were they great in the kitchen, kept the house very tidy, but they were wonderful with our kids. Eight children, under ten, can be a bit overwhelming but Chris and Anna were very patient and kind. They went out of our way to help and were so pleasant to spend time with. Our kids were sad to say goodbye.

Thank you to all The Barn staff for a lovely week. We hope to be back next year!

It was so interesting to meet you all and hear your stories about moving to France.
I'm really looking forward already to seeing you next winter - let me know when you are ready to start organising!

We spent the week before Easter in Chalet Ferme, our group was a mixture of ages and skiing abilities and the chalet provided a great base for all of us. Our hosts Anna and Chris were excellent and made us feel completely comfortable. Antonia regularly popped in and was very helpful with any questions we posed. For those who wished to stay in the chalet during the day, there was plenty to keep them entertained and for the keen skiers the chalet is perfectly situated close to the super morzine bubble. We often stay in chalets advertised as a similar standard to the Barn, but this has certainly been our favourite experience. We would highly recommend this chalet and will definitely return next year.

Stayed at the large side of the barn last week of March 2013 in a group of 8 adults and 8 children. What an amazing time we had. On arrival we were greeted by Antonia, Rob and Charlotte who made us feel very welcome with champagne on reception. This set the tone for the week!
The chalet is large and well equipped. The living area is uber cosy with an open fire that can be used whenever you require and this creates more cosiness after a hard days boarding. After boarding on arrival back at the chalet Charlotte has already rustled up tea and cakes which again were amazing. The free wireless and kids play room kept the kids out of our hair and we soon appreciated the routine of the kids eating before us with a variety of child friendly meals made by Charlotte. The meals cooked by Jon exceeded our expectation and were superb. Wouldn't want to ruin the surprise by giving away the detail but every meal was amazing and the last night (cooked on the open fire) was an absolute delight!
It was good to have a night off on wednesday and rob and Charlotte were happy to advise on local restaurants. We chose L'atale which was amazing (dont miss the whiskey fireball beef cannonball!)
We also bumped into owner an chef Jon in the pub watching the England game and ended up drinking shots till the early hours (well nearly midnight as we were exhausted after boarding!)
Other facilities in the chalet were fab, the hot tub is a nice way to relax after a hard day on the slopes and the boot room has a boot warmer and clothes warmer which was a life saver as we had a few wet days towards the end I the week. The sauna had been broken by a previous guest but this wasn't the end of the world and am sure this will be fixed for any future visits.
Rob the "ski friend" (not guide!) is a top bloke and it was great to board with him on the 2 days he was available during our stay. It's nice in such an extensive area to be able to follow someone else rather than constantly checking the piste guide (especially during the white out days we had) it was a bit I a shame he cramped my style by ski ing but he had broken his board so will let it go this time.
Location wise the chalet is fantastic. It really is 2 minutes to the super morzine bubble for the Avoriaz side or 2 minutes to the shuttle train which takes you the morzine pleney slopes in 5 minutes (morzine ski school is on this side so worth noting)
Overall this is a fantastic place to stay. I've been to Morzine 3 times now and this chalet really is the perfect place to stay. Great staff / owners, best ski zone in Europe, fab location and amazing food.
Would DEFINATELY consider staying here again should we come back to Morzine. Thanks again Antonia, Jon, Rob an Charlotte we really had an awesome stay

WOW! Thanks so much, what an amazing review, and so kind of you to have taken such time to write it. We had a fantastic week as well with you here, a very friendly appreciative group who were great to get to know. Jon finally got over his hang over after the shot session! I'm so pleased you had a great week and loved the chalet and the food and service. Rob and Lottie are just fab we are very lucky to have them.
Hope to see you next year!
Take care and wishing you all the very (very) best,
Antonia and Jon

I have just returned from spending a lovely week at The Barn, Morzine. Our party consisted of 13 guests, one of whom stayed for a long weekend, a first time skier, and was able to come and go freely as he wished.

I first made contact with Antonia six months prior to our stay and from the first email I knew our holiday was in extremely safe hands. We were in contact on a regular basis to discuss the practicalities of ski hire (delivered to the front door when we arrived), pre-booking ski passes (in the chalet when we arrived) , pre-booking airport transfers (I handed over our flight details and they were booked for us) and ensuring The Barn team had all of our dietary requirements well in advance to avoid any unfortunate mishaps!

Our chalet was hosted by a great couple, Chris and Anna. They were kind, attentive, considerate and very professional. Given the nature of their roles they were in the chalet for around eight hours a day (to make breakfast and tidy once we had left for the day, and to serve evening drinks and prepare and serve dinner each night) but their presence was never overbearing and they would subtly go about their business. That said, we loved having them around and we spent some time getting to know them during after-dinner drinks on a couple of occasions.

The chalet accommodation was very homely; we loved the living and dining area. When all 13 of us were together we could very comfortably sit and graze on afternoon tea and cakes in front of a burning stove after a great day on the slopes. The dining table was more than adequate for the size of our group and we tended to sit around the table after dinner until we eventually migrated to the sofa, or a bar. The bedrooms, all en suite, are not huge but this wasn’t a problem because they were all very comfortable and extremely clean. I stayed in the double room, with balcony, which was perfect for our needs and had enough storage space for about four people!

I should probably mention the skiing…Prior to our holiday people suggested that Morzine was a very low resort and that we would be lucky to have snow but I’m delighted to say that they couldn’t have been more wrong! Yes, the resort is low, but the snow on the mountain was beautiful and were treated to fresh snow and some wonderfully deep powder off-piste. Our group was a split of ski-fanatics, ski-lovers and newish-skiers but I’m happy to say that the Portes du Soleil area catered for the abilities and wishes of all of the group. The Super Morzine lift is about 3 mins away from the chalet, on foot, which takes skiers up to the Avoriaz region and through into Switzerland. The Pleney side of the mountain is just over ten minutes on foot from the chalet, in ski boots, but there is a great little village ‘train’ which picks passengers up from the Super Morzine lift and drops them off at the bottom of the Pleney lift for those who don’t wish to walk. The system works very well.

The day we arrived, having taken an early flight, we managed three hours on the slopes. The day we left we were able to ski for four hours and have lunch in the village, which was a lovely way to end the holiday. Antonia and Jon are open to guests staying as long as they want on the final day on the proviso that guests check-out when required and leave their luggage in storage, where there is also a changing area, whilst they go off for the day skiing/shopping.

The Barn is a well-oiled machine. Everything we wanted was available and nothing was ever too much trouble. I would stay there again; each day I felt relaxed, well looked after and very much like I was on holiday.

A huge thanks to Antonia and Jon for the wonderful chalet, and to Chris and Anna for looking after us so well!

We have just returned from a fantastic week at The Barn and could not have asked for better accomodation. The chalet was wonderfully warm, very comfortable and spacious. The process of booking was efficient and made very easy by Antonia's email communication and an excellent guest page for booking and making payments.Chalet hosts Anna and Chris are just lovely and looked after us very well. The food was excellent and the very generous wine/dinner drinks policy combined with the cosy atmosphere meant there was no need to venture very far in the evenings. Ski Guide Rob had an excellent knowledge of the slopes and was great fun.The barn is one of the best chalets we have stayed in and we will most definately make a return visit.
