“Super stay 13 November”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013 via mobile

This is the forth hotel we have stayed in in Dieppe and the best. Stayed here for one night only, received a warm welcome on arrival, lovely big clean room with sea view and balcony. The only downside was the wind whistling through the patio doors. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

We staid at Hotel de la plage for 2 nights. We had a very beautiful sea view room number 102 which we highly recommend.
King size bed with a high quality bedding, flat tv screen, complimentary fast internet, jaccuzi bath tub imaculately clean, complimentary tea and coffee in the room...and a wonderful view!
We enjoyed a very tasty buffet breakfast with fresh fruit salad, delicious croissants and pains au chocolate...
Extremely good price/quality ratio.
The owner came out of her way to try and find our car registration document that we thought we had lost in the hotel.we found it when back at home.
We surely will come back.
Book directly with the hotel: it is the same price ! (they have a phone number)

Room Tip: Room 101,102,103 are the best.

The 13st of November was the kindness day and I must say that Pierre and Ria have posted such nice comments that they should be rewarded on such a nice event. We would be so pleased to welcome you again with a nice surprise. And What Pierre said is very true, call us to book because all our rooms are different and our duty is to find the most suitable room regarding to your needs. Once again THANK YOU !

We have just returned from a two night stay at Hotel de la Plage. The hotel has a 'traditional facade' and looks a little dated from the outside in stark contrast to the spotless, clean, modern but comfortable interior.
We were welcomed and shown to our lovely room. It had a separate entrance via a courtyard garden on the ground floor - we would have made more use of the courtyard if it wasn't raining so much!
The room was spotless and the decor clean and bright and surprisingly spacious (the website and previous reviews on space don't do it justice). The bathroom was quite new with a shower.
The hotel was reasonably busy as it was a bank holiday in France but it was very quiet day and night in our room.
Breakfast was nice with a wide variety in a light airy breakfast room. It can get quite busy around 9am but the pastries/bread etc are constantly replenished.
We made use of the free wifi - the code is in the welcome folder in the room along with the usual hotel information and tourist/restaurant suggestions (there are many good restaurants along the quayside with set menus from around €14 upwards with reasonable house wine pichets).
You are requested to leave your key when you leave the hotel - this is not a problem as there are always staff on duty who we found to be very friendly. We always spoke to the staff in French and replies were a mixture of French and English.
You can request (for a charge) to have a late check out and there is also the facility to leave luggage to be picked up later or indeed to stay in the public areas until a little later.

The hotel is on the seafront - a wide boulevard and grass area before the beach - and it is a lovely walk along the promenade with the little souvenir shops and food kiosks still open in November - good for a budget lunch or a hot chocolate on a windy day.
Dieppe is a nice town to walk around (hilly areas are optional) with a nice pedestrianised town centre with a wide variety of shops (including a carrefour city which can provide your basic supermarket needs - picnic, snacks, wine...) and many cafés/restaurants...

This is a 2 star hotel and the service we received and the quality of our room exceeded our expectations "merci beaucoup hotel de la plage - on voudrait retourner"

We stayed here for three nights this week and though this is a great location that is all that can be said for it. I asked for a family room, these were advertised as spacious and comfortable areas in reality this was like sleeping in a hospital row ! No space and not even proper beds for the children, pull out sofa beds where all that was on offer. The floor we were on stank of cigarettes morning til night despite asking for a non smoking area. There are no tea and coffee making facilities that a traveller has come to expect as standard. The tv had one English Channel again despite bring advertised as having many satellite channels. And here is the real stinger my family were contacted by the police to say our home had been broken in to - we obviously had to check out early and get home. We told the hotel right away but recieved no offer of help to arrange our return travel, no offer to use a computer or phone to assist us, no offer of a drink while we attempted to deal with the police in the uk ! Instead we we're remind that we must still pay for the four nights and vacate the room as soon as possible if we were going ! Now I know our turmoil was not their problem but this really did highlight the dreadful approach to customer service !
If you want a nice all round experience don't book the hotel de la plage !!?

Hotel was ok , clean and just what we needed for a weekend trip. Lovely view of the boats comming in and out and of course the beach, would deffinately reccommend. Resturant was a little expensive lovely evening meal but breakfast was poor.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Just returned having spent 3 nights here, the rooms and public areas of the hotel are very clean I found the rooms to be on the small size.Sharing a twin room with 2 single beds and 2 chairs made the room very tight.
The single beds were extreamley narrow and not very long.
The price was also a little bit expensive if you on your own but splitting the cost made it more exceptable.
The one pitfall being the breakfast at 8€,we thought we had booked B&B only to find breakfast was extra.
therefore my conclusion being if you want a clean hotel with a good location and friendly staff in Dieppe for a short stay then this hotel is exceptable.

Fortunately I only stayed one night, the same night as the other reviewer below (19 Sept). I had room 'Bis', which was a tight squeeze for a solo traveller, though curiously it had a double bed? I'm only 5ft, no way could I imagine sharing with an average size person. They should put a single bed in to give more space. How they managed to fit a separate loo, and separate shower I have no idea. However, the public areas are spacious and lovely. It's in a great location, for 1 night it's perfectly adequate. My room was very quiet though, unlike the other reviewer's.
