My husband and I dined here while staying at the hotel for 2 nights and we were incredibly disappointed with the food, for the price.
The atmosphere was wonderful and we were treated very well (despite arriving late in jeans and t-shirts whilst the other diners had dressed appropriately!). However, when it came to the menu, we were confused and encouraged to order the incredibly expensive tasting menu which, had it been 'tasty' would have been a wonderful experience, but in fact it was mainly very vinegary and all the dishes were similar tasting; nothing to grab your taste buds and challenge your palate at all.
The wine was stunning .. but at 200€ a bottle, to be expected. The desserts were a highlight, but by that time, being faced with a huge bill after an 'OK' meal, we were a bit over it. The chef did come round to thank the guests at the end of the night which was a nice touch. I just feel his style is not what we would long for again.
We live in London, travel regularly and frequent good restaurants and we had high expectations but sadly, we agreed never to return to L'AC, or recommend.
