We staying in this hotel during a one day visit with relatives that live in Erlenbach. Way too expensive for what you actually receive in the way of quality accomodations.
Let's see I'll list the positives:
The restaurant serves a great dinner.
It is close to the train station that has a good bakery and coffee spot.
Room had a balcony
Rooms are ok but stark and sparse furnishings
Bathroom is almost unusable to get ready in due to the pedistal sink
Elevator is tiny
Breakfast is inadequate for what we paid for the room
Something happened when we stayed here that still puzzles me. We went to breakfast and checked out with the owner (I asumed he was the owner). After breakfast a man came up to us and informed us that he was our cab driver. We informed him that we didn't call a cab and that we didn't need his services. He got indignent with us saying "I came all this way for nothing". We assumed our relative had arranged a cab ride for us the night before at dinner. Not wanting to cause problems or undo what we thought our relative had arranged, we took the 4-5 block $15 cab ride. We asked our relative that day if he arranged a cab ride for us? He said no. Now...I have to believe our relative over a cab drive. So, it makes me wonder if the hotel owner and the cab company are working together and pull this stunt on unsuspecting Americans as they depart the hotel?? Hate to think so.....
