“A gem in the middle of nowhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

On our way from Kamanjab to Swakop, we took a break in Uis. We spotted the "Best coffee in town" sign and followed it, decided to check the claim. Well, I didn't try the other places in the little village of Uis, but I let the owner know that the coffee was the best I had in Namibia ! The place is really nice and cosy. My kids had a delicious Smoothie too. A really nice stop in a friendly and beautiful place.

“Unexpected gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

What a surprise to find a beautiful nursery and coffee shop after hours of driving on a dirt road. It was so relaxing just to sit on the shaded terrace and enjoy the quiet, calm and serene atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings. The staff were warm and friendly. The perfect place to take a break on your journey and to stop for refreshments.

“Just wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

As already said this place is like an oasis in the desert. You just can’t hope to find a place like that after hours of dirt roads. The terrace is wonderful, calm, quiet, surrounded by cactus, in a shaded area. The menu is very nice with toasted sandwiches, or cold sandwiches. For dessert, you have the choice between superb homemade cakes, or splendid fresh smoothies. And real coffee!!! What would be the chance to find an Italian espresso machine in the middle of nowhere? Here you can enjoy real cappuccino, having a nice chat with the owners of the place who are very friendly and helpful. We liked the place so much that after our stay in Mowani, we went back here to have lunch on the drive to Omaruru. Don’t miss it!!

“Welcome stop in beautiful surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

There is nothing much between Swakopmund and Twyfelfontein in the way of eateries so when we saw coffee shop advert at junction for Uis decided this would be an ideal spot to break our journey. Uis is very small and not a particularly interesting place but the Cactus & Coffee tea garden was like a little oasis. Spent a very interesting half hour chatting to Richard (the owner) and his friend (whose name escapes me) and enjoyed home made cake. Would certainly recommend a stopover here.

“An oasis.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

Stooped of here for coffee and cake on our road trip. The staff are so lovely and friendly. The coffee and cake were great. The cafe is set in a garden centre which is really nice to walk around and have a look at the cacti and other plants. Really enjoyed our brief visit here.
