“Lovely place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Stayed here for one night night it was very quiet and peaceful, Polly the owner was so friendly and welcoming. Beds were very comfortable and cosy and it felt like home from home, would recommend to anyone.

Polly was super friendly and the true pro from the moment we arrived. Having landed late for a wedding reception and having no idea how to get there, she very kindly arranged taxis to take us there and back. The house is immaculately clean and tidy. It is olde worlde but very modern inside and was just fabulous. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and Polly did not mind when we requested to have it at 10:00 suspecting the hangovers would be quite bad. I would definitely visit again and would most definitely recommend it to others. Well done :)

Spent just one night here on a recent visit to North Wales. The location is an old farmhouse which has been modernised and extended. The owner Polly is very friendly and welcoming and we were invited to treat her house like home. A particular attraction for us was that our bedroom had an annex where our daughter could sleep sharing the en suite bathroom. We loved this place and heartily recommend it - it's a B&B but it's a perfect example of it's type. Cooked breakfast was very good. Our only reservation was the rutted laneway approach - it's unsuitable for low slung sports cars. If you stay here ask Polly to book dinner at Glasfryn Pub and arrange the taxi service - again highly recommended.

Definitely deserving of all the positive reviews we read before booking and definitely somewhere to stay if you want a lovely place, out of town. Polly went out of her way to help out when we realised that we had left one case containing all our toiletries at home, did some necessity shopping for us when she did her grocery shop. Slept very well, bed and bedding just perfect. Like other reviewers we would like to visit again in the spring/summer.

We arrived in the dark, and just using the postcode in your satnav will not take you there, you need to include the name. But this is my one and only negative about Bronchoed Uchaf country house.

Upon arrival warmly greeted by the owner, Polly who went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and this continued throughout our 4night stay. The room was spacious with a large double bed. The communial areas, 2 large sitting rooms with openfires, sofas and looking out onto the large garden emphisised the spacious feeling.
I had every intention of just having continental breakfasts, but after tasting the "sausages", I had to have a full english every morning. So what was so special about the sausages....they were buffalo. Yum yum
This is also a great quiet location, close to Moel Famau & Loggerheads country parks for good walking

Forget the "not easy to find" and other moans about where this place is and think about staying in a delightful little farm house B&B which is, quite literally, in the "middle of nowhere" and we promise you'll love Broncoed Uchaf.

We stayed recently (December 2012) after visiting Chester for a Christmas shopping trip and yes, if you miss the turning into the farm track off the main road you have to go turn around, yes, the track is a little bumpy and yes you do wonder where you are going .......

BUT - If like us you remain open minded and think, well, this was a lovely looking place at a good price and the reviews are mostly good to excellent then you won't be disappointed.

Polly was a lovely hostess and, when we met her, she had been clearly busy all day but, nontheless, she took time to introduce herself and show us around this lovely building before leaving us to our own devices.

We were upgraded too which was a very unexpected surprise but, even though our new room was obviously bigger than the one we booked, somehow you got the feeling that - apart from size - there would have been little if any difference in the overall quality of the room, the furnishings and decor, it was all spot on, spotlessly clean and beautifully presented.

Polly encouraged us to "make yourselves at home" which, at first, felt a little strange having the owners milling about and you ferreting in their kitchen for mugs, tea and sugar etc but we soon got over that, relaxed and enjoyed our stay.

If I have any less than positive things to say it would only be that we couldn't enjoy a soak in the bath because the hot water didn't run hot for very long, I suspect as a result of Polly and her partner being out working for most of the day and, if i'm totally honest, the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in our room was a bit off putting, BUT, as I have said, these are relatively small things, A) because we weren't expecting a bath in our room anyway and B) because there was a lovely atmosphere in the house which would have been a pity to miss.

Would we stay again, without hesitation, would we recommend it to others absolutely, again remember that it is a farm house and you drive along a farm track into a farm yard but it's absolutely lovely, the open fires in the two lounge areas were a delight ad as I have said, the atmosphere was fabulous.

Definitely deserving of all the positive reviews we read before booking and definitely somewhere to stay if you want a lovely place, out of town. I can only imaging what it would be like in either the spring time or a lovely summer evening ............. perhaps next time :-)

Room Tip: As mentioned above, we were upgraded to what was called a "Suite" - basically a family roo...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

Myself, Husband and 10 month old son stayed here for two nights Saturday 4th- Monday 6th August. The house is beauiful, lots of communal space to sit and enjoy the views with a good book. The garden is also gorgeous, unfortunately for us we didn't really get a chance to use this due to the weather. The rooms are fantastic, we had the family room which has an initial small room with a single bed or room for a travel cot and then through a seperate door the main double bedroom. All very clean, comfortable and well presented. Polly the owner is just lovely, very welcoming and cant do enough for you, to make you feel at home. The cooked breakfast was lovely too. We would definately stay here again, great value for money in a lovely quiet location.
