“Beautiful surroundings, fantastic accommodation, peace and quiet!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Bodfan is one of those rare rental properties on Anglesey that offers great comfort AND space. We stay on Anglesey at least once a year and will no longer look for anywhere else! The house easily sleeps 8 people and there is plenty of living space to relax in and enjoy the peace of the area. During one evening of our stay, we entertained 12 people in the dining room. I should mention that a neighbour has her own catering business and produces great food – her cakes are AMAZING! Just ask Bodfan’s proprietor for details, you’ll not regret it.

There are two bathrooms – one with a shower and one with a bath/shower. We stayed during a cold spell and the central heating and wood burner kept us all cozy and warm. There is so much space in the house that you can always find a quiet corner to yourself if needed.

As Bodfan is fairly central - you can explore Anglesey easily.

Gillian, the proprietor, is extremely friendly and helpful. We had no problems with our accommodation and can highly recommend it.

“Warm, comfortable, and even the dog is welcoming.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013 for a stay in December 2012

This was our second winter visit to Bodfan and we were not disappointed. It is comfortable, spacious and cosy. If you want exercise there are bracing walks, and if you feel lazy you can just stay in and watch the birds. Your hosts are welcoming and available if needed, but not intrusive. We were a group of 8 friends, but Bodfan would be just as nice for families with children and in summer must be idyllic.

“Lovely surroundings and spacious farmhouse”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Had a great stay with two dogs and the extended family. Dogs loved the field for exercising. Lovely views. Very well stocked kitchen every pan, knife, fork and spoon you would ever need. Certainly require a car to get around and there is a lovely sandy beach and rock pools at Ligwy (near Moefre) about 20 minutes drive along lovely quiet lanes and a beach the dogs can go on also!!!

“Beautiful house & garden in extremely peaceful surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Very spacious house with all amenities including the "little" things like a decent hoover, hangers in all the cupboards, lots of sofas in the lounge, beautifully kept garden etc.. set in really tranquil surroundings. We had a great 10 day break in Anglesey - beautiful beaches etc.. short drive away.

“Lovely house and gardens - we loved playing hide + seek !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

After sorting out who gets which bedroom - quite a debate at times - we had a lovely time in the garden drinking tea and enjoying the garden. There is a dining room but we never used it as we loved to sit in the conservatory watching the bird feeders when we were eating or keeping the kids entertained.
Fairly isolated location, definitely need a car, but on the other hand just so peaceful with great views. Some of our Anglesey highlights - getting hen + duck eggs from the smallholding nearby - womderful couple and the best eggs. Also the Oriol Ynys Mon art gallery, which we went to on a wet afternoon and found it to be so much more than an art gallery - dressing-up box, games, colouring etc - an eye-opening afternoon.
When the sun shone we went to Trearddur Bay, about 20 mins away, which is a lovely beach to pass a few hours digging in the sand and paddling in the shallow bay.
Overall a good week despite half the week being wet/damp days.

“Everything we had hoped for, and more.”

We have just spent a very peaceful and relaxing week at Bodfan with our 4 dogs. The owner lived in the property next door and came to introduce herself on our arrival. She offered any help we might need but was not intrusive. The property itself is a beautiful old farmhouse with a large garden. The adjoining paddock could also be used if needed to exercise the dogs but a day on the many beaches soon sorted them out! The farmhouse itself was extremely well stocked with everything you always leave behind. I would say you would definitely need a car to get around as the property is situated in the centre of the island and the nearest beach is probably 20 mins away. We took coal and wood for the woodburner but it was not needed as it was all provided. If you like walking then you could walk forever and not see a soul. We saw dolphins at the top of the island at Amwych which was a bonus. There are several large stores i.e. Morrisons and Asda about 15 mins drive awaybut Holyhead is not somewhere you would want to visit more than once so stock up for the week and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Bodfan....we did and so did our dogs.
