“Great service ruined by mosquitos and poor beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Our family recently stayed for a week at a beautiful beach front cottage. Great positives were the friendly and efficient staff, the fantastic 40 knots.sailing school and the comfortable accommodation. However the mosquitos were a killer and the beach is very disappointing with nowhere really to swim due to the seaweed and seagrass. Restaurant also expensive and as it is outside a mosquito fest.

Such a wonderful stay at Nonsuch, lovely hotel and great for sailing. Staff were all lovely and the villas fantastic. Great base for exploring the island
Learnt to Kitesurfing with the 40knots team which was awesome, instruction was first class, really fun bunch, thoroughly recommend this place
kids also had a blast with the sailing
We will be back for sure

I went to Nonsuch Bay in early December. I had heard good reports about the kitesurfing there and wanted to explore Antigua a bit more. The resort is really lovely. Amazing views and very peaceful. Try to get one of the lower apartments with the pool right below and stunning views of the bay. What you have to realise here is that you are in a beautiful and pretty much unspoiled location but on the flip side it really is pretty quiet. there is also very little to do outside the resort, save for visiting the nearby Harmony Hall restaurant which is lovely. Staying at Nonsuch you are limited to eating at their restaurant overlooking the bay, which is lovely and the food is very good. But this is an expensive way to spend a holiday, so make sure you are prepared for that. Otherwise the staff are very warm, helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and you will go a long way before you beat the location.
The kitesurfing set up is run by 40 Knots. A very friendly and professional bunch. They boat you and your gear out to Green Island where there is a small beach to kite from. It really is very lovely and totally uncrowded. They offer lessons to beginners and I'd say this is a pretty good place to learn provided you chose a week in the windier season.

Do you enjoy peace and quiet, wonderful sailing and other non motorized water sports, well equipped spacious condos, a very good restaurant and a wonderful pleasant and accomodating staff, than this is a place you will love. The resort is about 40 minutes from the airport. We suggest using Vernon's taxi service wherever you go which can be arranged by the resort staff. The drivers know the ways around the island and are always reliable. This is our third visit to Nonsuch Bay and we will return. One more thing. The sailing staff is great. We sailed daily with Akeem and accomplished sailor and a a patient skilled instuctor.

we had lunch at nonsuch bay a few days ago and it was excellent.
the employees were very kind and attentive.
they set up a lovely table for 4 of us on the rail and we had a spectacular view.
highly recommend the seared tuna and the steak sandwich with tomato confit.
we all agreed we would come again for lunch on our next visit to antigua.
thanks again to Vonna, Marcelle, Timmy and Karen.

My husband and I stayed at Nonsuch for 3 nights prior to going to Cocobay which is located on the western side of the island. The property is lovely and spacious but there were a few items which made it disappointing for us. Every night, a young child in the adjacent building woke us up twice in the middle of the night screaming. In the morning when we would go out on our balcony, that child was out there screaming on their balcony. In addition, when we would go to the pool, there were a number of young children running, yelling, & playing - typical child behavior - but not fun to be around when you don't have your own children with you! One thing I had not thought of until we arrived was the fact that the resort is on the eastern side of the island so you are facing the Atlantic which means you will not see that beautiful turquoise water common on the Caribbean side. Unfortunately, we were there when a tremendous amount of seaweed had come in from a storm so it smelled like rotten eggs. We thought there was a problem with the sewer! Another problem is there is only one restaurant at the resort and dinner consisted of approx. 5 entrees which we thought were very expensive ($30-40/each) and it was all a la carte. Dinner for the 2 of us was over $100 each night. There is a very small shop with some food items which you could buy and prepare in your own kitchen but it's very limited. The resort is so secluded, you would have to have a car to go to a grocery store. Honestly, when I'm on vacation, I do not want to cook! So, if you are taking your children, it would be a nice (not great) place to go but we will definitely not return when it is just the 2 of us. Cocobay is a much better option for couples.

The condo was far more than we had anticipated and we could easily have lived here a month. The service was excellent, attentive, it's very secure and isolated. However, this side of the island is very removed from: the Caribbean baby blue waters, restaurants, civilization. The groups there were incentive trips where activities are planned and center around sailing and boating. We needed a place with mod cons (washing machines) so used this more as a service stop than a stand alone spot. I would have been very disappointed had this been our base, but we knew that going in. Everyone was very service-oriented and friendly. The closest analogy was to being at a golf resort somehow terraced into a hillside on a bay that happens to be located on a Caribbean island, but there is no Caribbean flavor here. As mentioned, you must stock up on groceries en route, the tiny store has very little to cook, and the restaurant prices are ridiculous.
