Having read other reviews we expected a lot from Nonsuch Bay, but our expectations were exceeded! The location, while remote, is beautiful. The two bedroom apartment was as nice in person as in the pictures. The restaurant has an amazing view, chef and staff. David was bartender par excellence! What really made our vacation though was the waterfront staff. They made us feel like royalty! Boats were ready when we asked, Natasha sailed with us just long enough to confirm that we knew what we were doing, and they took us out to several beautiful, deserted beaches on Green Island and picked us up exactly when we had agreed. We would definitely recommend Nonsuch Bay to anyone that wants to relax, dine, sail and snorkel!

While on holiday to Antigua again I was treated to a couple of nights at Nonsuch Bay resort for my Birthday and it was heaven. The resort was fabulous, the apartment was lovely it was pure luxury, the staff were friendly and helpful and really made my Birthday special. We had a fantastic time relaxing by the infinity pool and we even went on a trip they organised to Green Island for a spot of snorkelling which was amazing.
The apartment was self catering so we went to the restaurant on the resort and it was sooooo good that we ate here for all of our meals and didn't need to leave the resort.
Would definitely go back.

As part of our tour of Antigua we stayed here for 2 nights arriving by jeep (rental). Before hand I was unsure of what to expect and booked mainly for the sailing, we are in our late 20s and like relaxing but also with activities. When we arrived the resort looked huge but quietly built into a steep cove overlooking the large bay. We were greeted by the manager and rum punch while booking in and then shown to our room.

The rooms, which are actually apartments, are huge, 1st floor. Enormous lounge with dining table, plenty of seating, very modern kitchen, huge king-size bed, even bigger bathroom with jet bath tub. There was a huge rap around balcony lovely to have breakfast on, overlooking infinity pool and bay. These apartments could fit a large family and they are just for 2 people! It seems the hotel manages most rooms but a lot of the smaller apartments are owned privately.

We didn't have the half-board option. Decided just to have dinner at the restaurant. The restaurant was amazing. Best food we had in Antigua and this is reflected in the price but well worth it. The Service was exceptional. Expect 25% taxes and service on top of every price you see. We were invited to a managers cocktail party with complimentary wines to try, good to talk to people. It was pre-high season but still a good mixture of guests. Mainly 40-60s with a few younger couples.

Pools were great and big enough for swimming a few lengths. The restaurant pool has an amazing view but does catch the breeze. Good for sipping a cocktail. The beach is good (probably man made). The sailing was great. I recommend the Hobie cat. It was so fast and we had great wind. Beached at green Island which was beautiful for a little walk. The guys on the water are great, they prep everything for you and keep a look out incase you're having any trouble. Go for the pre-booked sailing package, it is great value.

Overall this place is great and relaxing, amazing service, apartments, sailing, food. Would stay 4 days max (but we like to keep moving). Good for couples (off-season). Also, there are no local shops so make sure you stock up in St Johns if you want to self-cater. Half moon bay is an amazing beach round the corner so rent a car. Dirt track is not that bad. Recommended!

Room Tip: 1st floor overlooking first pool from the beach. Other couples recommended the sunset sailing cham...

I was thinking about how I was going to write this review last night. When I got to work today I read the three following reviews from apbinet, sugarcubeBrighton, and EKD2013 and thought that there was no way that I could write anything more complete than they did. When I read their reviews, it was as if I was reliving our week-long vacation. My wife and I have visited many Caribbean islands, and a couple of places in Central America and we have not found any place else that we like more. Forgive my cheesiness, but the way that the entire team took care of us, it it was more like being at home than I have experienced anywhere else. We had a driver for the week (Sam from Vernon's Taxi Service) who became like a member of our family.

I know that we will return to Nonsuch Bay as soon as humanly possible. I can't imagine not going back.

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor one bedroom apartment.

What a fantastic treat, again! This was my third visit to Nonsuch, the first with teens and a grandparent, the 2nd with grown up children, this time with my partner. How lovely to see so many familiar faces in the welcoming and wonderful staff who pamper and go to such effort to make the week truly memorable. Charmaine and all the staff in the restaurant, David running the bar, Juanita taking such meticulous care of our apartment and belongings. The resort has grown up and is more beautifully lush each year. Our apartment had a panoramic view of the bay (spectacular) and was very spacious and well equipped. The restaurant at Nonsuch is a huge topic of conversation all week because everyone is so looking forward to the next meal! There is a new chef, Chef Mitchell, since my last visit....I wondered if it could possibly be as good as before?? The food is simply magnificent, at all meals. There is great choice for all appetites and the dinner menu now changes every 2 days. We had intended to eat out elsewhere on the island a few nights but with all the excellent choices here, we couldn't tear ourselves away! The sailing staff (Leslie, Mickey, Natasha) were tremendous as always, no matter what your sailing experience. It is shockingly beautiful and peaceful sailing out in the bay, the ever-changing color of the water, exploring creeks, sneaking up on turtles. We did a few fun little trips, including English Harbour, Long Bay, and Stingray City; mostly, however, we were highly content to hang out in this wonderful and remote oasis of a resort! Worth a mention, my partner and I are active sorts and he wondered about fitness for the week.....Although Nonsuch doesn't technically have a gym, we started each day with walking/running the hills and tracks around the resort. I can report that this is a very serious workout as the resort is built on the side of a cliff :). This was a great start to the day, especially before our substantial breakfast. Free Wifi in the rooms was another bonus. Such a great week; I cannot wait to go back!

Room Tip: I have now been in several rooms and they were all very spacious with wonderful views.

Recently stayed at NSB whilst in Antigua. It was only a short stay unfortunately as it was a birthday surprise but it was wonderful. From start to finish we had a fantastic time. Huw, Delicia and Ruth all were in on the surprise and really helped me pull it off without a hint to the birthday girl. From the moment we walked in the door to "just have lunch" at the gorgeous restaurant we were treated to 5 Star service and hospitality. After the wonderful lunch at which another surprise was a bottle of wine from the Staff for the birthday girl (I recommend the Tuna in the Ginger and Soy reduction, Shiitake Mushroom and edamame bean terrine, it was delicious), we got to see one of the villas. A two bedroom villa by one of the pools was shown to us (another surprise upgrade thanks to Huw) and it wasn't until the keys were placed into the birthday girl's hands did the penny drop. Thanks to everyone at NSB for being so fantastic. It really made our trip. I certainly recommend the trip over to Green Island for a swim and snorkel. We were the only people on the beach and it was heavenly.

Dinner was equally delightful with gorgeous views over the moonlit bay accompanied by delicious food. The Curry spice rubbed Mahi with Coconut Risotto is a must try!

The whole experience of Non Such Bay could not be better. The drive through the complex to the reception is lovely, the apartments are exceptional and so well maintained, furnished and equipped to such a high standard it was like staying in a show home. The grounds are well maintained and kept looking lovely. The staff were all friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble to accommodate the guest. Thank you again. We will definitely be back for more.

This was our fourth holiday at Nonsuch and the resort is developing fabulously! It seems to just get better and better, so it's about time to write about it. The grounds have grown up and are now lush and colourful in their stunning setting in between the hillside and the sea, and the accommodation feels as fresh as ever. We have visited as a couple, with our children and once with about 5 other families, so we've tried a few formulae and they have all worked beautifully; the varied and spacious apartments seem to allow peace and quiet for couples and families or larger groups alike. The abundant living space - inside and out - in apartments (and villas) of all sizes seems to make all the difference in this respect too. And these apartments are lovely and bright - they have been finished to a really high standard, are well equipped and super comfy. If you're missing anything, Coleen, Mariette, Terita, Zoe and the team seem to produce it out of thin air.

I happily spent all of several days relaxing at Nonsuch - by the (3) pools, on our deck, at the beach, snorkelling.....simple. Other days we mustered a bit of oomph and headed for the boats. Lesley, Shakimba, Mickey, Akim, Natasha and Denise are all on tap to take you for a sail, teach you to sail, or rig up the boats (dinghy, Hobie or keel) for more experienced types to set off in. With their help and some encouragement, we tried them all! The bay is a set inside a reef which means it's well protected from the Atlantic waves but the breeze is pretty dependable (if you're a kite surfer, it's heaven out by Green Island). It's always a highlight out in the boats to see turtles or dolphins and this time we got a close view a few times!

The restaurant is just not like home. It's open air, perched above the beach and sea, and Chef Mitchell is really terrific. He is new since our last visit and the food - which was always very good - is excellent and the menu is now nicely varied; the evening menu was changing every two days. The produce is fresh and local if possible, and Chef is proud of his suppliers. The whole team are wonderfully friendly and cheerful: Schena, David and Timmy at the bar, Charmaine, Genela, Yendi and Vonda (they were so good remembering our names that I hope I haven't left anyone out!). As on previous occasions, we took the Half-board option (so it's a holiday away from the kitchen for me) so we were spoiled at breakfast and dinner and happily catered for ourselves from our vast kitchen at lunchtime (paninis, salads, cold drinks of all varieties!).

We didn't spend a lot of time away from the resort this time but it's easy to rent a car for a trip to English or Falmouth Harbours, out for lunch or dinner, Stingray City (which we tried this time and really enjoyed), or a good explore of the island. Or you can simply book a taxi.

We'll be back to Nonsuch asap - it's a really unique combination of island appeal, lovely accommodation (it's hard to go back to hotel rooms after these digs) and friendly atmosphere (it was so nice to be welcomed back by so many familiar, friendly faces). Quite perfect!
