We stayed here on the first night of our week exploring North Wales. John and Mary were very friendly and caring hosts. We too were greeted with tea and delicious home made lemon cake after being shown a delightful bedroom looking out over green fields. It included a very spacious en-suite with rustic wooden floor. In the evening we visited the castle remains at Montgomery and can recommend the pub meals at The Dragon Hotel there. Breakfast at Heath Cottage was the most varied we had ever had at a B&B including duck eggs, rhubarb and damson jams, all home made. The next day we had departed without our Russian guide book, but Mary tracked down our car at nearby Powis Castle (splendid gardens) and left a message telling us to collect our book at the castle ticket office. If you are staying in this area, stay at Heath Cottage!
