“good break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

we stayed at this park during half term week in october 2013. we have stayed here before but a few years ago and there have been a few changes. the park is clean and the staff we dealt with are friendly and helpful. the main lounge on a night is in a different place and the old building has been knocked down opening up the space as you drive in. everything is now under one roof the entertainment , papa john's, amusements and soft play area and mash and barrel pub. we stayed in a presitage caravan which is very nice and has heating and all the mod con's you need. it is situated in the broadlands area which is centrally located but does get the noise on a night from people walking past. the park is directly on the beach and the park has a crazy golf , slide and area for ball games. we used the entertaiment a few times but unless you get in there early at 6 when the doors open you can struggle to get a seat. we ate in the mash and barrel but were not impressed with the food. we have booked again for next easter.

Room Tip: if you can afford to splash out get a decent caravan with heating

Thank you so much for leaving us a review of your holiday, it was wonderful to read that you'd noticed all the big changes we have made over the past few years and that you'll be coming back to see us at Easter next year.

I really like our Broadlands area as it is so close to the beach, if however you would like to add a location request to be somewhere quieter on your next visit then give us a call on 01493 728931 with your booking reference number and we will try our best to meet your request.

We look forward to seeing you in a few months time, how exciting to have something to look forward to over the cold winter!

Just returned from a Monday to Friday half term break. We left home in the midst of a hurricane and power cut, but arrived to a lovely sunny park. The park was so busy and some of the entertainment events were stretched but we had a great time. We had requested a chalet as they are nice and warm and our request had been granted. Check in staff were lovely. The funstars were a very strong team and appeared the same as when we went in April and still full or energy and enthusiasm. Our kids had won the talent show in April and did again, and amazingly the fun stars remembered them, after all the kids they must have seen. A big Thankyou to the sports staff, we loved the archery and my kids enjoyed the football , rock climbing, zip wire and scooter fun sessions, again the staff remembered us which was nice. A cheap yet cheerful break, sad to leave.

Thank you so much for your glowing review and your very kind words about our park, we are so pleased that you and your family enjoyed your Halloween break with us.

We welcome location requests as it gives us the chance to try to allocate in areas of guest's choice as personal preference differs so much. It's lovely to read that we were able to put you and your family into a chalet as requested - that extra heating really helps on cold evenings. Our Reception team are delighted that you mentioned them and that you had a great welcome to our park.

Our FunStar team remained the same throughout the 2013 season and they are an absolute delight. So hardworking, and as you say in your review they never tired - I really don't know where they got their energy from!

It was great to read that you took part in so many sports activities, and your thank you to the sports and leisure team will go a long way - yet another team of people who work tirelessly to provide the very best in family time together. Well done to them!

You said you are sad to leave, and we are sad to see you go, make sure that you book again soon and come back and see us in 2014! We can't wait to see you again!

Our second ever caravan holiday after our Sun 'debut' in the summer at an independent place in Devon. I must say that this place really impressed me - quick and easy check in - and despite us paying a bargain price we were upgraded to a bigger caravan which was noticeably bigger than last time - en-suite and slightly more room all round. It was a 8ish minute walk from the entertainment centre, off any 'main' route and pretty much on the beach so location-wise I think we were pretty lucky too.

Maybe I need to go to more places of this style to find fault with it but I'm struggling to at the moment - all the staff were cheerful, the whole site was kept pretty clean and places like the pub, entertainment venue & pool were much better than I expected.

Didn't use either the chip shop of the pizza place so can't comment on them but on the Saturday night we used a local takeaway which delivered to the caravan with the hour after we'd put the kids to bed. The shop didn't seem to overpriced either though we'd stocked up at the Tesco a mile or so away that you pass coming in from the West.

Not sure what the 'normal' price is but despite the four hour drive would be definitely willing to give this place another go.

Recently stayed here as part of a group. Was quite disappointed to discover we were in a poky little chalet instead of a caravan. My Dads Chalet wasn't too bad but ours was disgusting, not very clean and had a dreadful strong musty smell plus the sofa was broken.
Went to reception who were fabulous, they moved us to a chalet nearer to my Dad which was nicer although the seating still had a bit of a damp feel to it plus they were in dire need of some tlc but were clean and the beds were surprisingly comfy.
I popped out of park an hour after arriving and noticed some other poor soul had been put in our original chalet, I'm sure that they hadn't managed to get rid of the awful smell in that time!

Thank you so much for your review, we are really sorry that your first chalet was not up to our normal high standards. I'm pleased to read that once aware our team moved you so that you could enjoy the rest of your time with us.

I don't know if we had a request to locate you close to your Dad, but next time give us a call on 01493 728931 and we will be happy to try our best to allocate you as close as we possibly can.

Good facilities with a wide range of caravans and chalets. Nice little pool with lots of organised activities. The site has a variety of food options, a little shop that stocks most things for a price and it's not too far from all the activities at Great Yarmouth.
Plenty of evening entertainment and not too expensive for drinks.

We have just returned from a fantastic 4 nights at this park. We booked it through the sun holiday promotion so wasn't expecting anything spectacular. When we arrived and was told we were in a chalet we were a bit worried after reading some of the comments on here about them and they didn't look very nice from the outside but inside was perfect for us, yes it's basic but it was clean , plenty of space and had everything we needed, it was also warm, there were heaters in each room but we didn't even need to use them. We had a nice friendly welcome when we arrived and all Staff around the park were friendly. Lots of things for our boys to do whatever the weather. We were lucky enough to have some nice weather though and our boys even played in the sea on the lovely beach . The swimming pool was really nice, our boys loved it, the lifeguards were fab and had a bit of fun with the kids, boys loved the slide. Good childrens entertainment during the day and evening. We will definitely be back again next year.

Hi Sharon, thank you so much for your glowing review and your kind comments about our park and our team. It was lovely to read that your boys had such great fun!

I cannot believe how kind the weather has been this October, normally you would only swim in the sea abroad at this time of year - what a treat to be able to do this in Norfolk.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your chalet accommodation. Whilst they are our standard grade of accommodation our team work hard to keep them in good order and ensure they have everything you need for a great holiday.

Make sure you keep an eye out for our special offers on our Haven website, or feel free to call direct on 01493 728931 so we can find you the best deal for 2014.

We look forward to seeing you and your family again next year.

Hi Malcolm, thank you so much for your delightful review, we are so pleased that you and your grandchildren has such a great time with us!

Seeing the seals swim in the sea just off our beach is a wonderful experience. If you wanted to see some in their natural habitat in a colony then there are two places I would highly recommend visiting on your next stay. The first is Horsey Beach, about 9 miles from the park with a further mile walk out to the beach from Horsey Windpump, and the second is a boat trip from Great Yarmouth beach out to Scroby Sands. Both are fascinating and well worth taking time out to see while you are here, your grandchildren will love the experience!

On behalf of the Team at Caister Holiday Park we look forward to welcoming you all again soon.
