The Hacienda is located 15-20 minutes by car from the centre of Granada, just 2 minutes from the motorway, and yet very isolated. It lies in the middle of beautiful vineyards with nice views of the Sierra Nevada. The rooms are spacious, bathroom excellent and the interior decoration very stylish. There is a bodega selling their own wine and a nice restaurant. The pool is big and offers spectacular views of the mountais. At the pool bar you can have your wine and relax.
And how can all these be spoiled??? We went for check in at 14.00 [hotel's policy is after 12.00] and had to wait more than an hour beacause the manager allows late check out for some rooms and we had to wait .... this is unacceptable and almost ruined my day...many other couples had the same problem....we were offered a simple ...'we are sorry'.and that's it....this attitude belongs to low standard hotels and to one like the senorio...pity..
...and one last thing...had a small problem with the thousands of ants in the room..

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2011

My husband and I arranged to take some friends to visit the Hacienda Señorío de Nevada because we are huge fans of the wonderful wine and thought it would be a fun side trip to visit the winery and check out the new hotel there. Having been there, I realize it is much more than a side trip--it is a destination. What an amazing experience!
Everything in this hotel is just perfection from the moment you first walk in the door--which by the way, is about 500 years old. There is a delicate scent in the air--I'm not sure what it was, maybe orange and geranium? It was very subtle but made me feel like I was at a spa. In the lobby, there was a roaring wood fire and an elegant display of the wines. I stopped at the desk to check us in but my husband made a beeline to the glass-walled shop which featured the wines, of course, but also wine-related gifts and other lovely things.

We were impressed that everyone on the staff spoke beautiful English, something we didn't expect from a place in the middle of a Spanish vineyard. Our room was done in soft lavender and green with travertine marble and warm woods. We had a large terrace off of our room with views out to the mountains. The bed was huge and comfortable and bathrooms were beautifully done in travertine with little bags of toiletries by the sinks.

We had dinner at the hotel and it was a treat. I should write a review separately for that, but suffice it to say, if you are ANYWHERE in the area, you should go for a meal to experience not just the super wines, but also the excellent kitchen. We showed up for our booking and the waiter came right over and apologized saying they weren’t quite ready and would we please have a drink in the bar, on the house, while they prepared our table. We agreed and sat down at the bar—which is very trendy and modern looking with a ‘champagnerie’ or a large bowl for chilling wine and champagne at the corner of the bar filled with light and dry ice, softly spilling misty clouds around some chilling wine. We had been there about 90 seconds, just long enough to get a drink, and were told our table was now ready. We all laughed at the ‘delay” but it was such a nice touch and made us feel valued. I’ll save my comments about the dinner for my restaurant review, but I do want to say that the restaurant only charges a ONE euro markup on the wines. You can buy their 2005 gold-medal winning wine to have with your dinner for just 1 euro over the cost of the bottle in the winery’s store. It will cost you at least 3 ttimes the price for the same wine in any restaurant in Granada.

After enjoying the star-lit sky (a joy of being on the edge of the mountains) and a drink by the fire, we retired to our rooms.

The next morning, we were greeted with a breakfast that was impressive. We were served baskets of bread and pastries, platters of cheeses and one with sliced hams and sausages, a large selections of yogurts, and fresh juices and coffee. Barely able to make a dint in it all, the waiter then asked us how we wanted our bacon and eggs! The ladies couldn’t touch another bite, but somehow the guys found room.

I was so taken with the place, I asked for a tour as a friend of mine was looking for a very elegant spot for a small wedding. We all loved the beautifully appointed rooms--each is different with luxury finishes, pleasing colours, and serene vistas. It seems like each room has a stunning view of the countryside and is set so you don’t see a road or other distraction. Even the parking is under the hotel so you don’t see a parking lot. We also got to visit the wine tasting room and the winery. Everything at the hotel is pristine and sparkly clean, yet done with warmth and great appreciation for the wine and the setting.

I have visited many luxury hotels around the world but this place is truly something special. We’ve already booked to go back as my friend has decided to have her wedding there!
