“Absolutely faultless and perfect in every way!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

I don't usually write reviews but always rely on Tripadvisor when choosing accommodation so thought it was a good idea to start here! I have stayed in many places but never have I stayed somewhere that was perfect in every way. From the cuppa and home made cakes when we arrived after a long drive to the beautifully decorated bedroom and the most comfy beds ever...this was an absolute gem. We only wished we could have stayed longer but will definitely be back.

The location was perfect for us and having breakfast in the dining room with the doors open overlooking the beautiful scenery was stunning. Not least because if the fantastic food we were eating!!

All we can say is thank you so much Brian and Jane - you were perfect hosts and we could not have felt more welcome. We will see you again very soon!

Thanks
Emma & Zo

Apologies to you Brian and Jane for the belated review. We stayed here in May this year as our Grandmother lives in an old people's residence not too far away. We had a fantastically warm welcome from our hosts, and they made our stay very comfortable indeed! Very patient with my 3 year old daughter too. Would come back again without hesitation and for a longer stint would book the holiday cottage next door!

This B&B really is faultless in all areas. Not only is the location perfect for exploring various places, the owners, Jane and Brian, have left no stone unturned in providing an outstanding service. From the welcome cup of tea and homemade cakes on arrival, to immaculately clean, airy and relaxing rooms, they really do take pride in hosting guests - evidenced no less by our beds being turned down in the evening, along with a fresh jug of milk left for tea and coffee when we returned from dinner.

Aside from making sure that our needs were catered for, Jane and Brian have extensive knowledge of the area, and as such, gladly recommended where to visit. For me, the highlight of our stay was breakfast. A wide selection of food was available and cooked to perfection using locally sourced produce.

In summary, this is the precedent of what a B&B should be. I only wish we'd stayed longer than one night as decent accommodation like this really does make a trip that extra bit special. Keep up the good work Jane and Brian. Hope to stay again in the future!

Best regards,
Matt & Ruta

Firstly a great big thank you to Jane & Brian for the superb accommodation and very warm welcome. My wife and I stayed 5 nights and every day was enjoyable; from the breakfast, which I availed myself of everything that was on the menu to the glorious room. When we arrived the welcome was excellent with a cup of tea and piece of homemade cake after a long journey. A thank you to Brian for all his knowledge, and literature supplied, of the local area. We managed to visit all the places we had set out to do and were even welcomed back one evening even though we were soaking wet and dripping from the day out (coats were taken off us, dried overnight and were ready for the next day on the end of the bannister). Positively a 5 Star experience and one we want to have again in the near future.

Thank you both so much for the kind words; it was a real pleasure having you here and so good that you enjoyed some of the glories of the Llyn Peninsula.

Weather by now ofcourse is so warm and sunny!! with that lovely cooling sea breeze - nearly perfect.

Still that will be something to look forward to on your next visit!!, and we look forward once more to welcoming you here.

Take care

Jane and Brian.

Everything you want from a well-managed bed and breakfast. A warm welcome from Brian and Jane with nothing too much trouble. Rooms spotless and comfortable without being at all chintzy and incredible attention to detail. Breakfasts generous and tasy. Location perfect for clifftop walks etc - can't praise this place highly enough; proof of pudding is in the eating - we will be back next year!

I stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. Great location within easy reach of the loveliest places on the peninsula. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, the food is lovely, and Jane and Brian friendly, helpful and informative.

From the moment we walked in the door at Gwel Yr Ynys, our warm welcome from Brian and Jane made us feel instantly at home. We had to decline the offer of tea and freshly made cake, as we were on our way to eat with friends, but it was a lovely gesture.
The house is really lovely - modern, spotlessly clean but at the same time cosy and stylish. Jane obviously has artistic flare as many of the beautiful curtains and furnishings are her own design and the effect is really bright and relaxing.
There were three of us, so we had both the rooms upstairs and it felt like our own private suite! Really spacious rooms, one double and and one twin and both en suite and both felt so clean and brand new. The double room is so big it felt like a mini suite in its own right, with loads of windows and lots of light.
Brian and Jane have managed to incorporate everything a bed and breakfast could possibly wish for! Amazingly comfortable new beds (better than our own!!), beautiful furniture and carpets. Fantastically contemporary and swish bath/shower rooms with beautiful tiling to the floor and walls. Deep fluffy white towels, beautiful cotton bedding, teas of all varieties, coffee and biscuits in the rooms with fresh milk provided each night. The list goes on! And breakfast in the lovely breakfast room with french windows onto the garden and the views of the sea, Anglesey and Yr Eifl, was delicious. Fresh fruits and a choice of almost anything. Beautifully cooked and really friendly service. They also have loads of local knowledge, Brian being Welsh himself and both of them knowing and loving the region.
It's a really good spot to stay too. We have visited the Llyn Peninsula all our lives and stayed in many parts, but Dinas is great and central without having to drive to far to anywhere, with the coast at Morfa Nefyn very close and yet not far to the beautiful Aberdaron and it's National Trust coastline, as well as Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog. It was even easy to go to Anglesey for the day. And if you like walking, the accessible hillfort of Garn Fadryn is just outside the front door so no need for the car! And Yr Eifl not far either. And from both of these magnificent hills you can see right down Cardigan Bay and the top of Snowdon on a clear day.
Brian and Jane really made the stay extra special though, with their generous hospitality and friendly (but never intrusive) manner. They were particularly thoughtful with my elderly mother and have given her a holiday to remember.
As you can probably tell, we came home raving about Gwel Yr Ynys to all our friends and definitely hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely.
