We attended a family wedding and stayed for two days to assist with preparations and to relax and enjoy ourselves at the resort. We found the entire staff to be both skilled at their jobs and wonderful people persons.
This is a great site for a wedding, with stunning visual background and experienced, well coordinated staff. Over 200 of us dined together in a giant white tent that was air conditioned and comfortable on a 95 degree day. The bar staff was able to keep up with the demand and wait staff did a great job of circulating with appetizers after the ceremony and before dinner.
It is tough to prepare and serve 200 dinners. They did a commendable job of both food prep and presentation. If You are seeking a wedding venue, we recommend them highly.
Our casita was very nice. AC kept it at 60 our entire stay. Large bathroom, good bed and a nice sized entertaining area/living room space. Six of us enjoyed drinks in our room and felt very comfortable and uncrowded. Nice table for two on the outdoor patio with a good view of part of the golf course.
We had breakfast on the patio twice and had the buffet both times. Plenty of choices, featuring a chef who makes omelets with ingredients diners gather and present to him. Other standouts included pastries and blintzas and plenty of fresh fruits. The biscuits and gravy had great biscuits. I found that the gravy was improved greatly by adding some of their link sausage.
Wait staff never minded moving tables for us so we could sit 8 or more together. Coffee service was also well handled both visits.
For those who golf, this is a very popular and busy destination with two top rated courses. Those in our group who golfed enjoyed the challenge of the course they played and noted that the course was perfectly maintained.
The facility is a bit dated and the comforts of the rooms seem dated too. The refrigerators are small and pre filled with their bottled waters....at a price. Ours made noise every time the compressor ran. And while the ac was cold, the in roof unit was so loud we couldn't hear our ipod when it came on. If You want ice, they will bring it to Your room via golf cart for a fee. Or, You can walk down to the office and pick it up Yourself and carry it back to Your room. High speed internet service for our room only came in at low setting which made connecting to many sites difficult. Service dropped several times during our stay.
Most guests are taken to their room via golf cart, as parking is away from most of the units. When busy, there can be a wait....and there is also the quandary of how much to tip. We were glad we were in the first unit from the office/restaurant area so we could walk the short distance.
Overall, it was a very comfortable place to stay. The staff make it a very attractive place to be.
