You only have to go a short distance off the Valdobbiadene beaten track to find this gem of an agriturismo. Stunning views over the vine-terraced hills and small villages below. On a clear day, the Venice lagoon is visible. We visited for lunch with friends who had been many times before. A warm, genuine welcome into the small but immaculately decorated dining room ensured we immediately felt at home. This friendly and informal atmosphere continued throughout the wonderful meal, with the owners happy to talk about the food and wine they were serving, or any other topic. A mixed appetizer of lightly grilled home-grown vegetables and tender sardines was followed by home-made spaghetti (bigoli) which was bursting with flavours. The roast home-reared chicken simply melted in the mouth as did the tagliata, again with plentiful vegetables. Chilled 'colfondo' (prosecco wine bottled on the lees) was an excellent accompaniment on a very hot afternoon, rounded off with apple cake, two varieties of grappa, chunks of watermelon and coffee. We also took the opportunity to view the rooms for bed and breakfast guests and hope to return for a few days later in the year.
