We were guests here 2 years ago (see review) for a family re-union. Our re-unions are held annually and this is the first time we have ever re-visited a hotel for the event as we were so pleased on our first visit. This time, I'm fairly certain my wife and I had the same room as previously so we were were able to see that it was now in need of a little TLC, although still of a high standard. One little niggle was that being on the upper floor meant the water pressure was low and the shower did not work at all. Another member of our group reported that he and his wife were in a newly refurbished room, so the TLC could be considered as "Work in progress"
The food for evening dinner which we chose in advance (not unreasonable for a party of 26) was very good and the cooked breakfast was easily enough for the heartiest of appetites (charged extra at £8.50). The staff in the hotel were generally very pleasant although one of our party reported hearing very foul language being used by two of the staff in a public area. If any member of management are reading this, please take note!
The hotel is tucked away from the main road so noise at night is down to a minimum, although we were lucky that there were not many other guests, and those that were there did not indulge in night-time revelries.
