“Warm welcome and good travel informations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Dayami is a great hostess, the meals were terrific especially her lobster in tomato and the information about a guided tour with Mario to the caves where you can swim with turtles.
The rooms are clean and it's a quiet place at the end of the village close to the beacht (100mt)

We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2013. Dayami and Eddy are wonderful hosts and the meals were delicious. I'd highly recommend eating all of your meals there. They were able to help us organise one of the best nature and bird spotting trips we had during our 3 week trip, which again, I would highly recommend. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and spoke English which was a bonus as our Spanish is a but rusty! I've never seen so many red crabs and the highlight was a toss up between spotting the thumb sized black humming bird and tracking down the national bird which is red white and blue and has a very distintive call...Anyway, back to the hostel! It's super close to the beach, and the room was clean, spacious, the shower was powerful and had hot water, there was soap provided as well as toilet paper (we found that these items are not always provided when staying in casa particulars) In a well timed bonus, our room had had a brand new panasonic air con unit installed two days prior to our arrival which was blissful in the mid day heat and quiet as well. I would recommend this hostel to anyone and would certainly return if I was ever in the area again. Thanks for a great time to Dayami and Eddy, Bart and Emma (with all the tattoos!) x

Room Tip: The room we stayed in had a brand spanking new air con unit which was very quiet and powerful. Blis...

This casa is on the outskirts of the village, has two rooms upstairs with chairs and tables on the large terrace. Breakfast and dinner are served up there offering a view of Cuban life while you eat. Dayamy and Eddy were very helpful. Dayamy, a former marine biologist, gave us good advice for snorkelling and bird watching and organised a knowledgeable guide, Yemiel, who took us on a trip into the park where we saw many birds including the shy Cuban Tody and ended at a freshwater pool with turtles where we could swim. Eddy helped us change a tire (beware in April the crabs crossing the coast road!) and served the meals with aplomb. He has an old-timer car available as a taxi. He worked as a veterinarian and both him and his wife speak English.

We would recommend this casa warmly!

Room Tip: The room closer to the road has a better table and chairs on the terrace but the room at the back ha...

We stayed with Dayami for 2 nights in Nov 2012 and had a wonderful, relaxing time. She is a very warm, friendly host and also an excellent cook, I recommend you eat all your meals at the Casa! On arrival we had our choice of two rooms, both of which were lovely, spacious and very clean - it was hard to pick between the two! Playa Larga is a beautiful and tranquil location and I urge anyone staying with Dayami to do the tour she recommends, we saw so much of the stunning landscape and even met a snake, hummingbirds, turtles, crabs and bats along the way, not to mention the breath-taking fish and coral whilst snorkelling on the tour. The guide she found for us was extremely knowlegable and friendly and it was one of the best days we had in Cuba, excellent value for money! Dayami was extrememly helpful in booking a taxi to pick us up from the bus station on arrival, as well as helping us on our way to Trinidad which we were extremely grateful for. I would certainly recommend Hostal Dayami to anybody planning to visit the area. A huge thank you to Dayami and her lovely family! Lotty & Ollie x
