Description: The Drovers Inn is an intriguing pub and restaurant offering both a traditional Scottish inn atmosphere and contemporary fine dining. Situated midway between Forfar and Kirriemuir,in the little village of Memus.Enjoy a hearty meal and a well earned ale by the fire in our traditional Scottish pub after a days walking in the Angus Glens or savour a superb meal in our elegant, stylish sixty seat restaurant. In summer our guests also enjoy the outdoor dining area under the trees while their children romp in the large open air play area. Our menu features modern Scottish cuisine at its very best, using herbs from our own garden and quality, locally sourced seasonal produce. The exceptional food is complemented by an extensive wine list and large selection of whiskies and cognacs to complete the experience.

“Excellent Christmas Turkey!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2014

Lunched at the Drovers yesterday. Despite the fact they were busy, we were given a table in the restaurant (cosier than I expected) and served the best festive turkey meal I've ever had in a restaurant. Well cooked and piping hot. Waiting staff were very pleasant. Well done to all! Just sorry we had no room left for pudding but did enjoy the nice homemade chocolate that was served with coffee.

“An old favourite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2014

We've patronised The Drovers Inn some half a dozen times over the years, always as a three generation family meal. It's a consistently pleasant place to eat, good food, good service, and attractive ambience and good value for what you get. Child friendly, too.
My only slight criticism on this last visit would be that I've eaten better cooked belly pork elsewhere; it was fatty rather than crisp and unfortunately the four adults in our party all opted for this as a main course. But £182 for a full meal for the adults and two teenagers, with plenty of wine and beers, is very reasonable.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2014

3 of us on Saturday night. Restaurant was very busy with large parties of people, but service was very good. Food excellent, the rump steak was cooked to perfection. And the spiced orange pudding is absolutely glorious! Others had the turkey dinner special and sticky toffee pud, and beef stroganoff and Orkney fudge cheesecake. All looked and tasted delicious. Good value for the quality too. Will definitely be back in the future, although maybe in warmer times - the car park was an absolute skating rink on Saturday!

“Another fantastic meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2014 via mobile

visited for the second time in as many months 13/12/14 and have probably just had one of the tastiest meals ever. Wild mushrooms for starter , corn fed chicken for main and Orkney fudge cheesecake for pudding. My partner had the sirloin steak and spiced orange pudding with ginger ice cream . Could not fault the food at all,The service was excellent , very attentive staff. Having to travel 40 mins to get to the drovers from where I live should indicate that I think it's worth a visit.
Will be going again very soon.
Thanks to all at the Drovers.

14 of us arrived for Friday night dinner.
The welcome was good. The staff and service excellent. And the food was absolutely delicious. And the restaurant was packed. So well done!
