We spent two memorable nights at the Blinman Hotel. The pluses: spacious, generally well-equipped rooms; good food (though not fine dining); hospitable, friendly staff; and, most of all, the opportunity to sit in front of the fire and yarn for hours over a glass or two with the locals, as well as other visitors. The minuses: yes, the towels are threadbare (apparently, it's the fault of the laundry service, but they really need to fix this); $15 an hour for wi-fi is very steep (though that was blamed on the expense of providing it in such a remote area); and the extra $10 for a mediocre breakfast (instant coffee!). However, for all that, I'd go back there again . As another reviewer has said, they do a good job in a very remote area; in the outback you have to roll with the punches. And what a beautiful area it is -- absolutely stunning We went on an all-day four-wheel drive excursion to Chambers Gorge with Sally Henery whose family owns the nearby Alpana Station (www.alpanastation.com). Highly recommended.
