“FANTASTIC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

This is a wonderful place to stay. The house is full of charm and beautifully decorated and furnished. The room we stayed in was a delight and the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet and set in stunning landscape. The breakfast was gorgeous and the welcome from Linda was very warm - a wonderful host. Will definitely be going back.

Beautiful old house in beautiful countryside. Very comfortable and very English with antique/vintage furniture and linens. Delicious cooked breakfast with local/homegrown produce. The owner was friendly, charming and very accommodating of our requirements.
I would definitely come again and hope to do so at the same time next year.

Room Tip: A car would be a definite advantage.

I have stayed here for four years running and hope to visit many more times. Great location for Builth Wells, beautiful old house full of antique furniture and textiles. Linda is very welcoming and helpful and also interesting to talk to. Delicious breakfast with real home produce. Spotlessly clean and comfortable - what more could you want?

We really enjoyed our stay at this old fashioned charming farm house. The surroundings are beautiful and the farm pigs and sheep were lovely! The room was charming and the bathroom although shared was clean. Linda was really welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was nice. Our room was a little cold but we had loads of fab blankets to keep us warm and Linda kindly put on a heater in the room when we were out. The heater in the dining room was toasty!

A marvellous place! Linda Williams is a warm, friendly host who made me feel extremely welcome. Beds were comfy & it's great to sleep under blankets again - just like my childhood! Peacefully rustic with the sound of distant owls in the evening. Fantastic value for money! Would definitely go back.

We were visiting nearby Hay-on-Wye when we found this traditional Welsh Farmhouse providing bed & breakfast. If you want sterile white walled modern rooms then this is definitely not the place for you but if you want a friendly traditional farmhouse to stay in then The Old Vicarage Farm is ideal. When we arrived the owner Mrs Williams brought us a pot of tea and gave us a friendly welcome as she explained the local surroundings including some excellent local pubs where we could eat. One double room has ensuite facilities and the other two rooms share a bathroom although Mrs Williams sometimes only lets one of these so the guests have their own bathroom. The lovely breakfasts are sourced from the farms own livestock with home made bread and fresh farm eggs. Our room had traditional welsh blankets and we had a great nights sleep. This is a working farmhouse with traditional features such as stone window frames and metal windows no PVC windows here. The added bonus was the friendly animals round the house with the sheep coming across the field to greet us and the pigs contented rolling about in mud. We would love to return to this lovely place one day. Thanks for a great stay even if it was only for one night
