We stayed at this charming hotel for two nights and truly enjoyed its setting in the landscape of Tuscany with its rolling hills and cypress trees. The hotel is old style, furnished with traditional last century furniture and limited conveniences (e.g. no fridge, limited storage and space), but it was very clean and practical - in other words, good value for the money. The private bath was fully euqiped with towels, hair dryer and soap, etc. A covered private veranda allowed a leisurely Apero with a view of the gardens and the farming landscape surrounding it. A major surprise and highlight was the renowned restaurant in the building, with its chef Mirella and very attentive and friendly staff. Tuscan cuisine and specialties at their best, coupled with an extensive wine cellar, made for a very memorable dinner ($$$).
Unfortunately, the hotel is not easy to find and it is 45 minutes away from Florence by car, but it is a good place to stop while driving through Tuscany or visitng the nearby Motorway (Mugella) or the famous Outlet Mall nearby. Little English was spoken, and communication was not easy as we did not speak much Italian, however, everyone tried very hard to please their guests. The Hotel and restaurant really reprenent Tuscany and Italy, and we recommend it to value seekers and gourmets alike.
