“Amazing find in the Valleys! Stunning food x”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We were staying in Aberdare on business, and were looking for somewhere pleasant to eat - after asking local opinions, the Bella Mima (Italian-American fusion) was recommended. What an absolute find! Only a ten minute train ride away, in the town of Mountain Ash, right by the railway station - We had lovely, friendly service and they had a good selection of Italian wines too.
The menu is perfect - not too many choices, but as all meals are freshly made to order, they were happy to accomodate my husband's food allergy, and were gracious about it.
We ordered the Spicy Beef Brisket Po'boy, Garlic Rib Eye steak and had a 9" Carni Festa (a beautiful assortment of Italian meats) handmade Pizza - absolutely amazing!! So delicious, and lovely, fresh ingredients, which arrived in a good time - Desserts were utterly amazing! Homemade Italian rum torte was immense, and the profiterole's were just beautiful! We just we could've stayed longer, as after we had had our meals, there was an adjoining bar with a warm welcome, but unfortunately had to go back to our hotel for an early start -
Highly recommended for anyone new to the area, as the welcome is so warm, and the food is so well cooked and served, it made eating out a joy x

“Birthday treat in Valley Gastropub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012 via mobile

Lovely evening in the restaurant part of the Baileys pub in Miskin, Mountain Ash. Friendly service, good wine and nice ambiance. Waited a little while for our freshly prepared meals but didn't mind that as they arrived piping hot and plentiful. Excellent value for money, large portions for £7.95 pasta based meals with lots of meat/fish added, the chicken dishes were also nicely prepared, chips and coleslaw sides in abundance. A garlic baguette accompanied the pasta meals. The desserts choice was limited but both the rum and chocolate tort and toffee cheesecake were delicious. The profiteroles stack was amazing, enough for two to share. It was quiet in there for the Thursday night considering it was a two meals for £10 deal offer on all day. I hope more people will patronise this establishment, we need more of this quality on the valley.

“Excellent food, great value and friendly service !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

An excellent find in a small welsh town, the food is amazing and huge portions for great prices.
All the food is homecooked to order, so takes about 15 minutes, but well worth the wait.
Every Thursday is 2 meals for £10 - exactly the same portions and dishes from the main menu.
Sunday Lunch is also available alongside the main menu, at £6.95 for 2 courses is excellent value and it is all home made (including the gravy).
Well worth a visit, but book as it gets busy.

“Authentic Italian food, great prices, warm welcome. What more could you want!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

Bella Mima Italian American Restaurant, shares itself with The Baileys Arms Pub on Miskin Road.
The authentic food is made from scratch and therefore takes time, but who minds waiting in such a lovely cosy place.
The prices are very reasonable, especially for the huge portions. Home cooked Ribs in a spicy sauce and the pasta dishes are a firm favourite. Gigantic American Burgers are for the very hungry !
A good selection of Italian Wines at great prices and one of the best pints around.
I would advise booking as it does get busy, especially Sunday lunch time. A perfect Roast Beef cost just £5.95, as well as the normal Italian menu, something for everyone.
