“Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Had a fantastic weekend. The twin room was spacious and tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The staff were fab, helpful and friendly..even when I sneaked yet another sweet from the reception! Although I didn't have children, a few of the others did and they were offered colouring and free ice cream which was a lovely touch. They coped with a large group extremely well, some even got into the spirit and had their faces painted! We had a swim & steam which was lovely, food was great, especially considering the volume of us all at once, only critisism was not much choice for vegetarians. Would definitely reccommend and look forward to returning next year :-)

Last year we had a conference here & enjoyed it, so we came back again for another! The staff knew what to expect with us & were accommodating & helpful & many remembered us from last time.
Food was great again & we were always served in good time despite there being so many of us!
All the rooms have been recently decorated & look lovely, although the bathrooms let them down a little I believe they are just starting on a full referb of them.........
Nice room, free tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water, crisps & bics in the rooms.......a comfy bed, loads of hot water for showers, great food, great staff & free wifi....what more can you ask for?

Recently stayed for 3 nights as part of a Face Painting convention and really enjoyed my stay at Menzies.
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed so warmly. Very day, no matter what time, the staff were very polite, friendly and professional with a ready smile.
The room I had was very spacious, spotless and being at the back, nice and quite> lovely firm bed, slept like a baby!
Food on all 3 days was amazing with a good variety- loved the Sunday roast!
Would have loved a massage before heading home but need to book ahead next time.
Well done Menzies on excellent customer service, looking forward to visiting next year

This hotel is perfectly utilitarian.
I went during the snow so can't talk for the golf course but if you're looking for a nights sleep just outside Cambridge and easy to find, park, get on the road in the morning etc this is handy.
The city is too far to walk to but you could get a cab.
Food is bog standard, so are the rooms. Staff were great, really friendly and helpful.
It has a gym and pool and a sauna which is temperamental and a steam room. The gym is well well subscribed by locals so busy before/after work, it could also do with a facelift - that was a gripe of one of the regulars, I wasn't overly fussed for a quick after work gym session and relax..
In bed you can hear the swoosh of the dual carriageway but only as soft white noise
Poor breakfast. There is a brilliant auction house in a nearby village (ask staff) which does a great breakfast and you can have a browse of the lots...

Room Tip: Get one facing the golf course and not the car park if you can

Thanks for leaving us your review and I'm pleased that in general you found the hotel to be suited to your needs. I have shared your comments with the team, in particular it is nice that you found the staff to be great.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the breakfast, we generally get excellent feedback about the choice, quality and service and we truely believe it is the best breakfast in town.

I do hope we can welcome you again, perhaps in the summer when you could take advantage of the wonderful golf course!

Thanks again

Regards

Shaun

The hotel is very comfortable and they staff cannot do enough for you. The food is also excellent in a buffet style and so much choice. The only comment is that the bar is mega expensive - £8.50 for a large glass of red wine - could buy a bottle of it for that!

This weekend just gone around 80 of descended on the this hotel. A large amount of people staying in one place is always hard, however over the course of the last weekend we have all been treated fantastically. The rooms are spacious and open and all the staff were amazing. I couldn't rate this hotel enough, Over the course of the year i go away on trips over the country and this is by far the best accommodation I have stayed in. First class service from the start of our planning all the way through to the conclusion of our event. Nothing was ever too much trouble. If you plan to stay anywhere...stay here!
