5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

An extremely warm welcome from Elizabeth and David and a generous sharing of all that Croft Cottage and environs have to offer (a lot) made this a lovely stay for us. Great breakfasts and an extremely quiet and comfortable bedroom. The badger-watching experience is not to be missed - even on the rare occasions when Brock doesn't show up. We felt well looked after and nourished in many ways.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay that has no traffic noise, starry skies and nature all around, then you have come to the right place. The welcome that we received from David and Elisabeth was warm, but never intrusive. Breakfast was lovely and locally sourced, often from on-site! We were in reaching distance of Ludlow; Leominster; Cleobury Mortimer; Tenbury Wells and Craven Arms as well as the Clee hills on our doorstep. A wonderful break for us!

Room Tip: Your own wing of the house. Two rooms sharing a bathroom. Perfect for any combination. We were a...

This guest property was lovely, set in beautiful gardens, they had lovely animals. A good base to explore the area. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, the breakfasts were plentiful and set you up for the day.
The bed was very comfy we slept like a log, it had everything one needs for a break, and we would definitely return to this property if we were in the area again.
This guest wing actually has two bedrooms only to be used by the one family, very handy to know if you want to bring someone with you.

I do realise that we were your second choice of accommodation after a double-booking elsewhere, but I am slightly puzzled by the fact that you say that 'the bed was very comfy we slept like a log' but only gave us 4/5 for 'sleep quality'.

It would be helpful also to know why we don't represent better 'value'.

We reserved this B&B for 3 nights.
Keywords: hospitality, friendly, quiet in the night, good beds, lovely animals for sure the lookout at the badgers !

I only can subscribe what has been told by others. This is the 2nd best B&B we have been in for the last 15 years.

Although the wheater was not bad wheater for April, (We visited half July...) we enjoyed this B&B.
The only items we found that the rooms had a rather high relative humidity.

Luckely we had a good description from the website how to get there. The single track road was an interesting experience.
But that also made it a peacefull and quiet environment.
In the night it is realy dark.

Although for my 6.5 feet lenght, the bed is a little short, that was compensated by the width.
We slept very good and nice.

Recommended if you do love nature and a good sleep in the night.
Do not fortget to watch the badgers !

Four of us travelled to Croft Cottage initially to see Badgers. We were impressed with both the hospitality of our hosts,David and Elizabeth, and the delightful Cottage and gardens.
We had a room per couple. These were more than adequate, and well serviced, with plenty of Coffee, Tea, etc.
It wasnt the fault of Shropshire or Ludlow or our hosts, but it Bucketed it down with rain on our first day, so no Badgers, however on the second evening, we saw 6. Excellent.
If anyone is interested in nice gardens, then, not too far away, is a beauty. Stockton Bury.
Altogether a nice weekend, and a place I would recommend to anyone who likes a quiet weekend away

My friend and I, garden, animal and countryside lovers, fell in love with this place as soon as we arrived down a long narrow country lane and found a delightful cottage garden and stream surrounding a lovely cottage. We had a room each, and the addition of fresh flowers, home baked cake and fruit in each of our rooms were touches which made us realise we were somewhere special. The rooms are traditionally but charmingly furnished, and the small but classy touches continued with the discovery of individual percolators to make fresh coffee. The annex which houses the rooms has its own entrance, and a hallway with lots of books, information, and a selection of the products which are for sale, made by our hosts.

And our hosts Elizabeth and David were delightful people. We had lovely long chats about gardens, flowers and animals. We met their sheep, chickens, geese, bees, baby ducks, dog, cats, and of course the badgers!

I would recommend this place to anyone and we can't wait to go back, although sadly family commitments make it unlikely in the immediate future.

We selected Croft Cottage using Google search for accommodation in the Ludlow area. We were not disappointed to say the least! We were intrigued by the prospect of seeing badgers and, while that was a fantastic experience in itself, it was the wonderful hospitality of our charming hosts, Elizabeth and David, that truly made our stay memorable. They really have refined the Bed and Breakfast experience to reflect the best of everything - location, privacy, comfort, breakfast, nature, etc. We have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful place to anyone who wants to experience the Best of British in a beautiful and tranquil area of Shropshire.
