“Worst and most expensive yet”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Up until now we hadn't felt ripped off in Croatia but we did after this meal. Lovely little bay with lots of yachts in. We were concerned by the advice in the 777 cruising guide that the restaurant owner was not entitled to collect mooring fees but would try. Of course he did but what can you do at the time . He offered us a discount if we ate in the restaurant which we were planning to do anyway. As per the other review no prices.. We just bring you the food. Fish does seem to be expensive here but that was all that was on offer.. They could maybe find a pork chop if you didn't want fish. The fish was ok, squid was awful which was disappointing as we have had some really delicious squid. The highlight was the big bowl of veges. House wine over twice the price we had paid elsewhere. Lots of people eating there so they would be doing very nicely. I would suggest you eat on he boat in this bay.

“Sums up all good and bad about being a nautical tourist in Croatia”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Uvala Lucice is a great, well protected bay on Brac south of Milna. Gorgeous turquoise clean sea, a little too crowded with yachts. The restaurant konoba Smrceva is run by the owners of the moorings. It overlooks the bay and the closed and open spaces of the restaurant are beautifully blended with the evergreen trees. Lots of space but every spot has it's privacy and different atmosphere. No menus or price lists should have been enough of a warning sign for what turned to be a dissapointing experience despite the setting - average grilled fish which took forever to prepare, sides, wine, desserts, all outrageously priced. A similar sense of being tricked is not uncommon in lone restaurants accessible by boat only where you have no other nearby choice and everything tends to be overpriced. But this was by far the worst ratio of price vs quality. We noticed we weren't the only dissatisfied customers that evening either. Because of the nice atmosphere, have a coffee or glass of wine there but don't eat there. The cost of that dinner can be spent much better in one of many good restaurants of Hvar or Vis.
