“Great Family location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

My wife and I stay here on a fairly regular basis for business, and have extended a Friday visit to a weekend at the Resort as well. We have stayed in the Lakeside Spa Chalet, nice location and spacious rooms, but heating and cooling unit was very noisy. It was middle of Winter so we had to have the unit going all night.
The cabins are fantastic for families, with many options on room layouts.
The Hotel section is what we stay in mostly, and is very good. Bathrooms are a bit tired, and in desperate need of an upgrade. As we are corporate VIP's, breakfast is included, but on occasion we have experienced some very unprofessional business practise in the breakfast area. The girls clean down tables straight onto the floor, no matter what substance is laying on the table, and the next customers have to trudge through the mess. Also more anoying is the fact that the hot food bain marees are not refilled in a timely manner to keep the flow of food coming. I left last visit without anything but some fruit, after waiting 25 minutes to get things re filled. And that was a Saturday morning, very busy.
We spoke to the service manager, and she assured us she would address this issue.

Room Tip: Check out hot specials frequently placed on their web site before booking.

We were attracted to the kids activity centre. A treat for the kids at the end of our two week trip. A surprise to be told most things had an extra charge (although this wasn't strictly monitored especially the jumping pillow). Over a quarter of the games in the video arcade weren't working - kids weren't impressed with losing their precious coins.
We booked the a 2 bedroom plus interconnected room - near to the amenities however we lost count of the maintenance items (stair handrail broken, key lights blown, towel rail falling off, etc). You would only want the separate interconnected room if you knew your neighbours very well, as we did.
Enjoyed the restaurant.
Indoor pool very heavily chlorinated.

Room Tip: Small room attached to the interconnected two bed units are poorly sound-proofed (our friends heard...

What a wonderful Resort for a Family as long as you don't pay for the other overpriced activities they have available for kids. My kids got on the jumping pillow for free...they just jumped on. The Swimming Pool was nice with a small spa pool. Room we had was very nice yet the TV was in a very awkward place to sit and watch comfortable. Had to admit our room stunk at night of Rabbit urine but there were a lot of Rabbits living underneath the Hut Rooms. BBQ was Free with was good, but no utensils available in the rooms to help with the cooking on them (we'd travelled from the Far North so didn't have our own handy). Found it very relaxing and our kids had a wonderful time. Expensive for what you get mind you but a nice location.

Room Tip: Rooms away from Rabbits living underneath...probably get a room in the Resort next time.

Keep your kids off the "shared" roads here!! The staff speed around the roads in there vans all while the kids are out using the peddle cars which I might add are an extra cost like every other activity here including the jumping pillow! Carpet and curtains could use a good wash or better still replaced! Bathroom and toilet fans have dust dating back a good few years. Pool area is ok and the kids did like the extremely expensive game of mini golf. Would not recommend or return which is a shame as the region is beautiful!

We've stayed at Aspect Tamara Valley Resort a number of times and absolutely love it. Indoor pool for the kids, mini golf, jumping pillow, shops and beautiful gardens. Rooms have always been clean and modern and staff friendly & helpful.

We booked most of our Tasmania accommodation at the last minute, which was pretty risky for early January. The Aspect Resort was nice enough for our first night. We paid $180 for a room and breakfast for three on New Year's Day, which isn't too bad.
We stayed in a 'Sunset Villa', which was in the middle of the park, so no view to speak of, but an easy walk to all the facilities. It was two rooms, including some basic cooking facilities and a safe that we didn't use. It was quite comfortable, though a little chilly overnight, and the sound of constant water dripping all night was a little annoying (there was some kind of irrigation stuff going on - we woke to a massive puddle under the cabin). The pool was nice for a relax, and the breakfast was OK with a lovely friendly waitress greeting us.
Overall, a good spot that is quite close to Launceston (about 10 minutes drive to the CBD).

Golf-view cabin was clean and fine for 2 adults at the reduced rate of $140. That was through their website at short notice. I would not have been happy to pay more. The threat of a $35 fee for not washing and putting away your dishes left a bad taste.
Speaking of bad taste, the restaurant was dreadful. We arrived 15 mins late for our booking (at 8 pm) and were 'greeted' by 'you're late' and 'the kitchen is about to close now so you have to order now'. It was apparent the staff wanted to get the hell out of there asap for their own new years' celebrations. The food was way too salty and nothing special. While I don't condone lateness, in a service industry and at such an early hour, I would have expected better treatment.
