I've rented a number of condos on the beach in different parts of the US and Northern Europe, so I feel that this hotel is a great find for the price. Comparable units in the neighborhood could cost twice as much. Our oceanfront suite included a full kitchen and the largest balcony in the hotel. A nice breakfast is included with fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, pastries and make-your-own waffle station. The pool has a view of the private beach, which is not crowded and the hotel provides beach chairs. There's even a complimentary Friday night wine social on the covered pool-side patio, which gave us a chance to meet other guests.

No, it's not a luxury hotel and still needs some upgrades, but the property upgrades are a work in progress and improving daily. Our mattress wasn't the greatest, but I'm hoping that will be upgraded in the future. The Seabonnay is located in a high-rise residential area, so you'll have to drive a few minutes to the main drag where you'll find plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back!

You will be happy at Seabonay Beach Resort if you lower your expectations. The desk told callers there was no record of us as registered guests for the first two days after our arrival. Reason: the desk had entered my first name, Joseph, as our family name, despite the fact I had submitted my credit card, with my full name at registration, paying for our entire stay at that time. O.K., mistakes happen. But absolutely no apology, or even a mild concern from Seabonay management. The same attitude was evident when no staff were available to clean guest rooms on our third day. No attempt was made to contact guests who kept waiting for service with the expectation it would be provided. The continental breakfast was meager, estimated by this business professor as an expense of less than a dollar per guest, provided in a room resembling a military barracks. The two elevators resembled the type built for warehouses thirty or forty years ago. Our room was definitely overpriced at almost $200 per night. What a waste of oceanfront location.

Room Tip: stay for one night if absolutely nothing else is available.

Great sized room and very clean! Had a great time and not over crowded in February. Located in a very rich area of Hillsboro Beach and great ocean view room! Also friendly young staff! Had a great long weekend of relaxation in february and the weather was beautiful!

I flew in from cold and wet Oregon to meet my girlfrend who was visiting family in South Florida. On Valentines day we visited Ft Lauderdale for a day harbor cruise and started driving up the coast. We turned down an overpriced standard room at a nearby hotel and found our paradise at the Seabonay. Lovely room with a comfy king size bed for a reasonable price. Shared a bit of wine and snacks at dusk with our fellow travelers and found a great dinner spot nearby. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous, especially Patricia. A late night stroll on the beach just a few steps from the rear lounge area followed by yummy breakfast the next morning. Five Stars - you betcha!

Room Tip: ask for Patricia - she will take good care of you!

4 of us had 2 rooms booked prior to a cruise. Longs ways away from cruise pier. Arrived and rooms were unacceptable. Dirty carpets, hair in bathtub, poor lighting, very small room, no balcony, rooms not close together which we had requested. Spoke to clerk on duty and after a lot of talking we agreed to upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite. Refrigerator did not work nor the dishwasher, still old furniture. Had a balcony that had mold all over. Slider door to outside was very hard to open and would not lock. Maintenance man came up and cut a dowell to keep the door closed. Drapery lining was ripped and moldy. After settling in, clerk came up to our room and said we would have to move because he made a mistake and that room was booked the next day. No offer to help us move our luggage. By the time we got settled in the 3rd room it had been 2 hours. Thywere were very uncooperative the entire stay. Our husbands went golfing the day we were to check out and they would not let us and check out an hour after check out time. So we girls had to load everything ourselves and wait downstairs in the lobby. One would think after all we went through that they would have let us stay the extra hour. This resort(?) was said to have been refurbished recently but the only thing we might have guessed had been done was a repainting job on the outside over probably 20 coats of previous paint with paint remnants still on the windows. I had read the reviews and felt confident it was a good value. I travel alot and am now convinced to check out more than just tripadvisors site. I would never sacriffice a few dollars to stay closer to the nicer beaches near the Bahia Mar. The only positive thing was one of the gals at the desk the next day let us borrow her stapler and print out a boardiing pass for us.

Room Tip: Stay at Bahia Mar or the Westin further south for a better beach experience and closer to things to...
