What a lovely park, great river walks, lovely cabin and service with a smile. We travelled to Melbourne from Perth and wanted to be close to Eltham for a family party. It was a perfect location, an easy drive to Eltham, about 30 minutes from the MCG for the football, not far from shopping in Doncaster, yet tucked away from the rat race.

We stayed in this park for 3 weeks in total. Booked via internet a couple of months in advance as we were staying over Easter and Heather was very helpful in answering my questions. All in all I agree with all the positive comments. As per Janet D D's review, the only negative for us was that we were also put on site 36 initially and would agree that the smell from the dump point which is located next to this site is terrible. The dump point is near the clothesline area, next to the amenities block and laundry. When I complained about the smell I was advised that it had been on ongoing issue that the management were trying to resolve. We were given a new site when the smell became no longer bearable and the Easter break was over. Perhaps the park needs to find a new location for the dump point which will not impact on campers.
We had family for a lunchtime BBQ and the camp kitchen and facilities are excellent.
Beasleys, the plant nursery over the road, is a delight with a very popular tearoom. Plenty of great walks next to the park. It is a lovely spot with trees and birds. Well done to the owners and managers. We are converts to Family parks.

We stayed here for 7 nights recently, the first 3 nights were spent in a cabin which was dog friendly and our little dog was very appreciative of being allowed to stay inside with us. Well appointed cabin, only gripe was that there wasn't a privacy lock on the toilet/bathroom door. The park itself is in a fantastic spot with plenty of walking tracks nearby, the Mullum Mullum trail was our favourite. There is a great camp kitchen to utilise to cook your meals, jumping pillow for the kids and a games room with air hockey, table tennis and video games. The remainder of our stay was spent in a tent on a powered ensuite caravan/tent site, which again was handy to have our own ensuite. The only problem with the site was that there is gravel and compacted crusher dust, making it near impossible to get any tent pegs in (I think I got about 3 in total).
Overall a fantastic place to stay.

We stayed in one of the static villas at the end of March 2013 for 5 nights. We were a party of 3 adults (2 parents, 1 grandparent) and 2 children aged 10 and 8. The villa we had was at the front of the park and overlooked the pool which was very handy when the children wanted to go swimming and also had a view of the bird feeder (wild parrots etc fed daily about 9am). At home we have our own touring caravan but were unsure what we would need to buy for a stay in a static/mobile home. We were pleased to discover that dishwashing liquid, cutlery, crockery, dishtowels, dish cloth, towels, bedlinen, bins and liners were all provided. The villa was also airconditioned and has mosquito shields on the windows and sliding door. There was also a microwave and a fridge in the kitchen. The pool has a bubble cover at night which keeps it warm enough to swim in even in Autumn although it was better after a day of sunshine. The children loved the bouncy pillow and the freedom to run around the campsite and quickly made friends with other children staying at the park. We hired the go-karts for an hour one afternoon which they enjoyed but was quite pricey at about $10 per go-kart per hour. The location of the park is fabulous: it is at the edge of Doncaster East just as the area becomes more rural and heads towards Kangaroo Ground and Warrendyte. It was VERY convenient for us as we were visiting family living in Eltham. There is plenty to see in the area. The Pines shopping centre is about 5 minutes drive away and has everything you need from grocery shops to pharmacies and clothes shops. A bit further away (about 20 minutes drive) is the massive Doncaster Shopping centre which seems to have every shop imaginable (we went there on a very hot day to get out of the heat!). We also headed to the Dandenongs for one day which took 1 - 2 hours to get to. There are plenty of parks in the immediate area where you can see local wildlife, go for walks/cycling, have a BBQ and let the children play in adventure playgrounds e.g. Westerfolds park and Wombat Bend (great for younger children). We enjoyed Lower Eltham which has a minature train on Sundays and Laughing Waters Park on the edge of Yarra river where we saw Duck billed Platypus. The staff are courtious and always busy working in the park. We enjoyed our stay more than we expected to and would eagerly return.

Room Tip: Villa overlooking pool was great: quiet, convenient and lovely bird life.

Our recent caravan stay with friends was overshadowed by a fairly constant sewer smell. We were situated in front of the sewer / dumping station and sites 36 & 36A should not be utilised until the sewer system is fixed. The smell was nauseating and extremely strong!!! Also a serious health concern with young children exploring the surrounds of our campsites. We were offered other sites to move to but they were unsuitable. General amenities and amusements for kids were good. Pool fantastic! I would stay there again as it is a convenient location in Melbourne with terrific shade and pet-friendly but would only stay on a site next to pool or playground / jumping pillow. The rear of caravan park you smell the sewer and the sites are quite run down with concrete slabs and ground levels quite uneven.

We found the park excellent, with plenty to do and great proximity to shopping (Westfield Donaster only 5 mins away). Our daughter loved the pillow trampoline and the camp kitchen and BBQ's were great. Surprisingly we had a very quiet, peaceful sleep on a Saturday night (no noise!) and really enjoyed our stay.

I can endorse the the favourable reports given to this establishment. However, the camping area seems to be an afterthought, being in a small grassed area behind some cabins. It can get quite crowded if all the spots are taken. The undercover area outside the kitchen and the pool are a godsend on hot days. It is also handy that the office sells Myki cards which are essential to use the public transport system.
This review is based on several hours I spent there visiting guests. I have used their feedback and my own observations to compile this review. I did not stay in the park myself.
There aren't many campsites in the Melbourne suburbs and from what I've seen, this would have to be the best of them.
