“Great facilities and very affordable.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We found the park excellent, with plenty to do and great proximity to shopping (Westfield Donaster only 5 mins away). Our daughter loved the pillow trampoline and the camp kitchen and BBQ's were great. Surprisingly we had a very quiet, peaceful sleep on a Saturday night (no noise!) and really enjoyed our stay.

I can endorse the the favourable reports given to this establishment. However, the camping area seems to be an afterthought, being in a small grassed area behind some cabins. It can get quite crowded if all the spots are taken. The undercover area outside the kitchen and the pool are a godsend on hot days. It is also handy that the office sells Myki cards which are essential to use the public transport system.
This review is based on several hours I spent there visiting guests. I have used their feedback and my own observations to compile this review. I did not stay in the park myself.
There aren't many campsites in the Melbourne suburbs and from what I've seen, this would have to be the best of them.

Our first camping overseas, and this site was a gem. Heather was so helpful and friendly. The amenities block were first class. The kitchen was very clean and fully equipped, nice extra was the TV and there were ample laundry facilities. Family friendly campsite, quiet and friendly with pool, games room and jumping cushion. Bus stop into Melbourne just around the corner. Absolutely loved this site, all the others we visited through Victoria and New South Wales had a hard time keeping up with this one!

My partner and I camped at this tourist park for four nights. The groundskeeper (who lives on the property) offered me an extension cable when i said ours had broken at a previous site. He then also offered us the use of his fan, as the days we stayed were during the early 2013 heatwave. The amenities were exceptional - shower's very clean with great water pressure, kitchen with all necessities and a large TV for watching things whilst cooking. Also, the pool was a lovely way to meet and chat with other guests (as I love to do when travelling). This caravan/camping park was absolutely lovely, but it was the niceness of the staff which won me over in the end.

We've stayed in many caravan parks from SA to NSW and this is our favourite. Although there are parks closer to the CBD of Melbourne, Crystal Brook is like home away from home. There is bus transport nearby or we drive to a train station in zone 1 and use public transport from there. There are lots of gum trees, birds, possums and the occassional koala along the river walk. We have enjoyed staying in different cabin accommodation over the years and found all of them comfortable. We visit during school holidays and the park is quiet and very child friendly, with the pool also open in the evenings.
The town of Warrandyte with the bakery and river setting a short drive away is beautiful! We also recommend the tea rooms at the garden centre across the road.

Room Tip: The villas have a larger balcony but all the cabins are well sited.

Happy to stay here again. In the city but you wouldn't really know it. Lots of trees around and a very pleasant clean environment. We had a camper trailer in an ensuite powered site. Pure luxury! The ensuite had seen better days but it worked and was clean. No idea what the park provided accommodation is like.

Stayed at Crystal Brook while relocating from Brisbane to Tasmania. After 7 hours on the road, the park was perfect for our needs. Clean, well equipped cabin with great heated pool, games room and jumping cushion for kids. We were travelling with a dog and it was the best dog friendly accommodation we stayed in. Only half an hour drive from the city centre but a great shopping centre just round the corner for everything you would need. The highlight for the kids were the go karts you could hire for $6. They had a lot of fun whizzing about on them. The managers/owners obviously take great pride in their park. It was the cleanest, quietest and nicest looking one we stayed in the whole trip. Keep up the good work!
