“Don't waste your time or money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We went to this restuarant after looking at the menu on line and reading reviews. The online menu didn't list the prices which had we seen the prices we would have chosen a different restaurant. The cheapest meals on the menu were the sandwiches at $13 and the dinners were around $20-$30. I would be willing to pay those high prices it was an upscale restaurant but it was not inviting and was rundown. The food was ok not worth what we paid. My nine year old son used the restroom and he said it was nasty, that not something he would normally pay attention to so it must have been really dirty. The restuarant wasn't busy only one other family in the restaurant during lunch around 12 on July 5th.

“dont even bother”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

Well, i took my 21 year old and 18 year old to big bear lake during june of 2012. My 18 year old has fatal dairy allergies where if she is contaminated she goes into anaphalatic shock. I asked a blond lady nicely if they could accomodate my daughter by just cooking her food seperately away from the cheesy part of the grill and make sure there was no cross contamination. This rude lady told me to not even bother because they would not serve us and we were told to go somewhere else. I was appalled because she was so rude about it. And the restaurant wasn't even busy, there were like four people in the whole restaurant.

“WOW! Best BBQ in years!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

We went to Jaspers for my birthday, and it was perfect! Wonderful waiter, amazing food. My husband ordered the full rack of pork ribs - he thought they were baby back ribs - NOT! Attached is a photo of the whole side of a pig that arrived at our table! The flavor was deep-smoked, with that wonderful color to the meat. He only ate 4 ribs and we took the rest home. The meat was falling off the bone. The accompanying house-made BBQ sauces were tangy and tasty. I ordered the pulled pork, which was also excellent - photo is included. But, the ribs had more smoke flavor. A cheese-covered piece of garlic bread came with each order, plus choice of sides including great home-made fries, baked beans, coleslaw, and twice-cooked potatoes. Everything was wonderful. When we were full and had boxed up the substantial leftovers, the staff brought out a large piece of their bread pudding with a candle and sang "Happy Birthday". It was the sweetest, most delicate-textured bread pudding we ever had. If you're in Big Bear Lake, don't miss Jaspers!

“BBQ, Pulled Pork, Beef Delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

Visited here with friends and trip advisor's reviews were accurate....Food is indeed comfort food, just delicious. It is a joint, kind of place Tony Bordaine visits for specialty food and he doesn't care much about the ambiance. Waitress was darling, friendly and accommodating.
Cold slaw was delicious, good with the pulled pork....Add $3.50 for substituting the sweet potato fries was a bit much, but the rest was a pretty good value.

“Amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

We went for hamburgers and ended up getting the ribs - pork and beef. We were a little concerned when we noticed that the menu said "one" beef rib. Not to worry! There was more meet on that bone than one could finish. We loved smoked meat and Jaspers delivered! We tried the Bread Pudding, based on other reviews and it too, was delicious. Since we enjoyed the ribs so much, we chose to return for hamburgers the next day. Again, they were very good. Beans, potato salad, fries, vegetables, all very good. We also had a piece of their lemon cake. It was amazing! Loved the food, enjoyed the service. I only regret we had to return home or this would be a regular restaurant for us!
