“amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2011

I visited Big Bear early December with my two teenage children and my sister, hushand and their three children. We are from Brisbane, Australia, and this stay was a real treat for us, seeing snow for the first time and the beautiful accommadation which made our stay one to remember always. Vicky and Mark, the Inn Keepers were two of the most beautiful and friendly people you could wish for at a B&B. They were very imformative of the area and helped us in any way they could. The breakfast was amazing and Vicky is an fantastic cook. We stayed in the main house. The Christmas decorations were beautiful, which made our stay even more special. The rooms were great, very comfy bed and the showers had a good, strong water flow, which is great after a day on the ski fields. Thank you Mark and Vicki, your awesome.

Room Tip: Top room away from the road

My husband and I had an amazing romantic get-away at the Eagle's Nest. The room was large and cozy, and we used the very comfortable (and beautiful!) common area to watch a DVD on the large screen tv. Mark and Vicki are so welcoming, and such good cooks! We had a great time.

My fiance and I went up to Big Bear for a romantic get-away. The location of the bed and breakfast is in a great location! Aside from being beautiful, the room was really comfortable- nice, big cozy beds, fire place, and a jacuzzi bath. The breakfast was to DIE for... best pumpkin pancakes we've ever had! The inn-keepers, Mark and Vicki, were so kind and helpful.
We'll definitely stay here next time we go up and we highly recommend it to all =]

Room Tip: They have a "dog room" =]

My boyfriend and I just returned from an amazing weekend at the Eagle's Nest. For a weekend getaway, it really doesn't get any better than this place. We arrived late on a Friday night and Mark and Vicki were so inviting and willing to tell us where we should visit/good restaurants and showed us to our adorable cabin room.

We stayed in the "Mountain Spirit" room which was just off a quiet street at the back on their property. The room had an amazing jacuzzi tub and a fireplace with starters and daily firewood provided. Mark and Vicki have done an awesome job in making the rooms feel like a cabin in the mountains but with the comforts of home (complete with a selection of DVDS for you to snuggle up and watch).

It's very apparent that Mark and Vicki love their B&B. It shows in their warm and delicious breakfasts (go here rather than a restaurant, I promise you won't regret it), comfy rooms and well maintained property. The moment we walked in we knew we would be returning annually. Thanks Mark and Vicki for the the wonderful stay!

Room Tip: If you have pets, they do have a room just for people traveling with their furry companions.

My husband and I wanted to spend a relaxing weekend in Big Bear to get away from stress. I chose Eagle's Nest after reading numerous positive reviews about it and we were not disappointed. This B&B is very nice and has lots of character. Yes, it is "old", but to me it's part of the charm. The property is beautiful, very well maintained and spotless. We stayed in one of the bigger upstairs rooms and it was comfortable and cozy. We also enjoyed relaxing in the common room by the fireplace, sipping our wine.

The service was superb. The owners, Mark and Vicki, happened to be on vacataion (good for them!). They left their friend Lisa in charge and she was wonderful and took amazing care of us! She was very warm, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the area. She even baked us cookies right before we checked out, to take home with us. Speaking of cookies and other little treats, the little fridge downstairs was always stocked with water and sodas, and there were plenty of snacks, coffee/tea/hot chocolate all the time. Lisa baked fresh cookies every evening, and every morning there was a tray of coffee waiting for us at the door 30 minutes before breakfast. You do not get this kind of personal attention in a hotel.

The breakfasts were very tasty. Lisa explained to us that before she left, Vicki pre-made some foods and/or gave recipes for Lisa to follow.

The only negatives that I can speak of are really minor and were mentioned in previous reviews. The first one is that if you are in a room with windows facing the main street or to the side of it, you will hear the road noise. It can be loud at times, for example when a fire truck goes by, but it was not a constant noise and did not really bother us. Night-time was much quieter. We always kept the windows opened, too. The second thing is that the walls are indeed paper-thin, so we could hear other people talking or their TV on a couple of occasions. Once agian, that was a pretty minor thing to us. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

From the moment you arrive till you wave good-bye, you will be treated to THE BEST service by Mark and Vicki, innkeepers and owners extraordinaire. These two know how make a wonderful experience for every guest they have. Count on them for advice on the local activities, dining recommendations, insights into the local flora and fauna and by far the BEST breakfast EVERY morning you could ever hope for. Our room was super clean, comfortable and filled with memorabilia a la Big Bear. This is a B&B you can pick with confidence.

Room Tip: The rooms hold two comfortably. Any room you pick will be a winner.

We had a very relaxing 2 days stay at the Eagles Nest with Mark and Vicki. The place was just what we needed and we felt so at home after rushing around and enduring Vegas's dubious attractions. They have a very friendly cat and dog and a very homely set up. They are really the best of hosts and took time to show us everything in the communal areas and in our room. We really didn't want to leave and already are making plans to come back in a year or so. Thanks so much for the perfect end to our holiday. Lots of love and best wishes, Dave and Yo ( from Oxford, UK)

Room Tip: We stayed in the Hallelujah trail room - lovely
