a very gentle beach with calm waters for swimming , beach chairs and umbrella and beach resturant reasonably priced, lots of shade as well from palm trees etc. wind surfing and kite flying main attraction out in the bay provide easy entertainment, local shops provide teaching and rentals, snorkling better past the first low water area, but watch for current pulling into the open bay. Family beach, many locals but not over crowded mos tdays.

After spending several days at Orient Beach with some wave action we decided to find a beach with calm waters but not too far from our villa. Just around the bend we found Le Galion Beach. It was beautiful, calm, and very clean. It is a great bay for kids. It stays shallow all the way out. And on the far side their are sail surf rentals if you want some action. Snorkeling, however, was virtually non-existent. But the water was great.

A virtual lagoon to swim in for long distances, a lovely beach, where you can rent lounges and umbrellas and eat in a terrific cafe called Tropical Wave. Never crowded, or so it seemed on our three visits.

Even though Galion Beach is on the windwards side of the island, this beach is protected by a reef. The beach itself wasn't as big/wide as others but the water was as gorgeous as anywhere else and the beach was clean and the sand bright white. Perfect views to St. Barths off in the distance.
