“Very good B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Stayed overnight after the second day's walking with two chums along part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The rooms were a bit small, but most importantly they were very clean and my bed was comfy enough. The breakfast was very good, although the service was perhaps a little abrupt.
All in all, worth visiting again.

My wife and myself stayed here in August. We were in Broadhaven for a friends birthday. This is a lovely B and B and is on the sea front. We had a very nice ground floor room with a great view overlooking the bay.
The room was a double but was not very big. It did however have a very comfortable double bed.
The bathroom which is ensuit is small but very well maintained and the room and bathroom were both spotless.
Both myself and my wife slept through breakfast(not really early risers) but the owner of the guest house ensured we had a lovely pot of tea, some cereal and some lovely toast. For anyone staying in Broadhaven i would recommend this place, it is very clean, and the staff are very friendly...Thanks for making our stay so lovely.

The Anchor Guest house is a 20 second walk from the front door to being on the beach.
The guest house is very clean, as was our room. We had fresh Welsh cakes with fruit (plums/grapes/strawberries) brought up late afternoon each day with fresh milk for drinks.
The breakfast room has glass on 2 walls overlooking the bay and felt very spacious, again uninterrupted views over the bay. Breakfast itself was really nice, usual cereals, fruit yogurt etc. A cooked offering as well (of course), which was also really very nice.
Plenty of space for parking behind the premises.
We were in room 4 which has to be the “gold room”. It has a large window, look at the picture on the website, it is the apex window on the right of the building on the 1st floor. The views across the bay are breathtaking. My wife spent many an hour 1st thing in the morning and late evening sitting in one of the 2 leather chairs staring out across the bay.
The room has a bunk bed as well, for those with children.
If you want this room, then book well in advance, and I mean well in advance, I understand at the time of writing this (Sept 2013) that booking were already coming in for next summer!
As a side note, we saw some of the other rooms as well, and they were equally well presented and clean, again some had views over the bay.
Our host Janet was really friendly and accommodating (and delivered our afternoon treat).

Had a evening meal here recently. Great views. The food was good but took a little to long to arrive. The veg could have been more adventurous (cauli, brocolli, carrots) The room was a bit untidy. The waitress spent time moving tables around for a party of 6. would suggest this should have been done earlier.

The Anchor Guest House offers spectacular views of the great beach of Broad Haven, the ocean and the sunsets. The breakfast was excellent and was served in a cosy breakfast room with a wonderful sea-side-view. A great place to stay for hikers of the Pemprokeshire Coast Path!

Room Tip: Ask for sea view room at first floor

A very welcoming host. A really pleasant seaside guesthouse. The front lawn has seating and you can have a drink from Ellie's cafe and bistro which is part of the main building. On a beautiful evening overlooking St. Bride's Bay it was fantastic. Breakfast was excellent and we sat in the window of the breakfast room overlooking the bay. Very enjoyable and good value. Note the bistro serves evening meals and we have reviewed it separately

You couldn't be much closer to the beach - just a short walk down the drive, cross the road and there you are - and Broad Haven has great beach, but sadly the weather did not permit us to take advantage of it during our stay as it was so windy. We managed one decent sunset out of five !! What a good job then that the Anchor was tip top. We had a nice dual aspect room on the ground floor with lovely views of the beach - not the biggest room we've stayed in, but spotlessly clean and comfortable and perfectly adequate. It had obviously been fairly recently refurbished and to a good standard. A big plus for me was that we were provided with a jug of fresh milk everyday rather than those stupid little pots that there is never enough of !! Everyday, a little treat accompanied the milk - be it Welsh cakes or some other cake, plus some fruit - a nice touch. Breakfast was of a high quality, with plenty of choice and always a good selection of fruit. Unfortunately it did not work out for us to sample Eva's Bistro this time, but other reviewers seem to speak well of it. Janet was a pleasant host and made sure that all our needs were met during a most pleasant stay. Thank you.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have sea views, so ask if you particularly want one
