I spent the day at this spa today and returned home feeling great, but not REALLY great. Nothing to do with the spa or it's excellent range of services, just the LOCATION. I thought at one point that I had taken a wrong turn into a military base. It is a credit to them that they have managed to keep their business going not only during these hard times, but also because people are obviously happy to travel quite a way out to feel the benefits of their spa.
Happily they are trying to find new premises within the West Dorset area and when they do I think they will reap the rewards.
I had a 'Face and Body Sensation' which comprised of a hot stone massage followed by an Elemis facial. The therapist also gave a very soothing head massage whilst the face mask was doing it's magic. This I thought was a very nice touch as in the past I have experienced therapists leaving clients alone whilst they are waiting for masks etc to take effect.
I always think it's not just the big things that matter, but the tiny little things that make you remember an experience and chose one spa over another.
I would highly recommend this spa and would be a frequent customer if the location wasn't so remote.
A small tip : I can understand the restaurant closing in winter so we were advised that we were quite welcome to bring any food and drink along and use the lounge for lunch. Good old M & S sorted us out with a fancy picnic and it felt quite indulgent lounging around in big fluffy robes eating.
