We enjoyed the fish of the day and the lanb shanks. Both were excellent. Service wss great. Music was very pleasant background music and quiet enough to enjoy but not intrude. If anything could be improved it would be the comfort of the chairs but that was very minor.
The restaurant is a beautifully and rastefully restored 1908 building (hence its name).
Do this as a reward sfter a hard slog around the penguin colonies. But drivers, stay with the Brancott Estate low alcohol wine if you want to successfully negotiate the windy roads either over the mountain or round the coast. Don't miss this one while you're in Dunedin.
