“A piece of paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

The place is calm, peacefull and so clean. Rooms are quite big and beautifully furnished. There is a charming and very friendly familly who owns and run this beautiful place! The view on mountains is great and we really enjoyed staying in a room with Mountain view. The quality of the on demand restaurant's food was great!

Room Tip: If you wish to eat in the restaurant, let the reception know before.

We had perfect stay in the Beausite hotel. It has the most beautiful view ever seen (even in the cloudy-rainy weather we had), and the rooms are also beautiful inside and out.
The host in the hotel is very kind and nice, and she was very helpful with here advices. Mostly recommended.

My wife and I wanted a walking holiday in a scenic location, away from the city lights. We stayed at Beausite for 7 nights in July. Even before we arrived, our hosts Rita and Kaspar were very helpful. I'd heard about Tick Borne Encephalitis in Switzerland, and as online research was a bit ambivalent I e-mailed them for advice. Rita was very reassuring, but also supplied some useful web links. Suffice it to say that we didn't see a single tick the whole stay! They also advised regarding rail transport from Geneva (don't forget the half-price voucher) and the regular bus service up from Interlaken.

We flew EasyJet to Geneva for a few nights, and took the train from there to Interlaken West. (This doesn't connect with Interlaken East so make sure you get the right station). Generally if you go straight from the airport onto the train you can book your luggage straight through to the rail destination. This is a help, as the trains have limited facility for large 20kg suitcases. There's an hourly bus from Interlaken West to Waldegg on Beatenberg, and the hotel is not more than 200 metres up a tarred road from the bus stop. Once we'd booked in, Rita gave us a bus pass allowing free rides in the immediate vicinity, including Interlaken. She also gave us some very useful maps and brochures, and advised us about the options on the 3 and 6 day rail passes for the Jungfrau mountains. These passes aren't cheap, but Jungfraujoch is a must, and we also enjoyed trips to the botanical gardens at Schynige Platte, and the scenic valley of Lauterbrunnen. We found the 3-day pass the best, as it left other days free for hiking around Beatenberg itself, and in the valleys.

Beausite is fairly small, and is run by the owners, Kaspar (who also cooks delicious meals) and Rita. They are available from morning until quite late at night, and very approachable with any queries - which they always seem able to solve. Our room was spacious, with a balcony looking onto Thunnersee and a shower en-suite. Wi-Fi was free and fast, and reached our room. The room was tastefully decorated in traditional Swiss style, with painted wooden panelling. The beds and bedding were all comfortable. Although there was no air conditioning and the weather was warm, we felt safe enough to sleep with the widows open, which was adequate. The only sounds at night were distant cowbells (from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.!) and the occasional owl.

The hotel has a friendly, "Gamutlich" atmosphere, although not too in-your-face. Drinks are served on the balcony before supper, and afterwards from the bar if necessary. There is a small, comfortable lounge with a modern TV, although our room had a TV with satellite channels as well.

Beatenberg is rather spread out with limited facilities, although there's a convenience store just across the road from the hotel. Interlaken is well geared for tourists, including "oldies" like ourselves, and swinging youngsters wanting to have a go at paragliding. There are lots of well-marked walking paths in excellent condition, with signposts indicating time to destination, and whether the path is a "Wanderweg" (relatively easy) or a more difficult "Bergweg" hike.

So in all, we had a wonderful trip with great accommodation, in which Rita and Kaspar played their part to ensure its success.

The Beausite hotel was the highlight of our trip to Switzerland! Located in some of the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen, its location would have been enough to assure a very good review, but what stood out even more than the location (not that I'd have believed it possible!) were the owners Kaspar and Rita. They were the most warm and helpful people we'd ever stayed with. I highly recommend the Beausite!

We stayed in Hotel Beausite for 3 nights, it was really pleasure for us. The room was great, with a beautiful view of Jungfrau and Thurnsee. Our hosts Rita and Kaspar were very hospitable and friendly. Rita gave us detailed information about the sights and she was very helpful during our visit. The foods were very delicious, especially Kaspar's traditional Rösti. We can recommend this Hotel if you travel in Switzerland.

I was hesitated about its location first, once arrived at front of the hotel door, everything changed. Hotel located in the higher interlaken (beatenberg), that you can enjoying beautiful views at days and the magical sounds of cow's bells at night. Mrs. Rita takes care of everything during our stay starting from kind greeting at arrival till the checking out. They also have the best restaurant in area, preparing tradition dishes and even international and they all delicious. Rooms varies, we lived in family small apartment has two bedrooms with in-room bathrooms. Wooden Decorations, windows, doors, wardrobe and bed, all smell woody. The other smaller rooms distinguish by the amazing balcony facing lake (family apartment has no balcony). I'm highly recommend the hotel if you're looking for relax, peace and feel the tradition of Swiss.

Very good value older hotel in a beautiful quiet location 15min drive out of Interlaken. More like a big friendly B&B than a hotel.

Comfortable cosy rooms with very welcoming and helpful hosts. Set menu, home cooked dinner is a special treat if you have been travelling for awhile. If you want to eat elsewhere, there is only one other restaurant within comfortable walking distance, but a few more within a short drive.

Breakfast is OK - the usual range (fried or scrambled eggs are extra cost), but fruit salad looked very tired, including brown apples, when we were there.

If travelling by bus, be aware it only goes every hour and like all public transport in Switzerland is expensive at 6 euro one way. Get off at Waldegg (there are 10 stops in Beatenberg) and walk 150m up the hill

WiFi is reliable and a reasonable speed.

For those travelling light in summer, ask for a room with a balcony (especially one overlooking the valley)- its great for drying the washing.

Room Tip: Get a room looking towards the alps - the view is awesome - and you get the afternoon sun.
