The amost amazing thing about the Dorint is waking in the morning and looking out at 1,000m over Lake Thun and Interlaken onto Jungfrau, the Eiger and Monch. Having stayed at the Dorint at least twice each year for the past 12 years, I can never get enough of the view. Step from your room onto your private veranda and take in the sights and the sounds - in summar, bird calls, cow bells clanging, you almost can hear Heidi.. In winter, the wind whistling and howling through the trees off the 2,000m high Niederhorn behind you.

Ideal for family getways, useful for holding a conference. The hotel is welcoming and its staff always friendly and helpful. There is piles to do, skiing, toboggoning, cycling, walking, chilling...The restaurant has good wholesome food and good variation.

Rooms are large, with sitting room (and sofas which convert into beds) and separate bedroom(s), some being upstairs/downstairs combinations.

Getting to Beatenberg is easy, there are regular trains from Zurich/Geneva/Basel to Interlaken and then a bus every hour up/down the mountain. Stay on the bus through Beatenberg village until you are almost at the cablecar to the summit and thats where the Dorint is.

Room Tip: Try and get a higher floor in House Eidelweiss for the best views.

This review is long overdue, we stayed at Dorint Bluemlisalp in May 2012 for our anniversary. Dorint is in beaten berg about 40 minutes bus ride from Interlaken. Absolutely beautiful with stunning views. The rooms are extremely spacious and very clean. The rooms have balconies overlooking the fantastic view of the lake. The check in was smooth. The hotel send us a small basket if fruits, flowers and chocolates to wish us on our anniversary! The bus journey to the hotel is breathtaking in itself. The breakfast has a wide variety. I highly recommend this place if you want some relaxing time, however if you are on an extremely short visit this may not be a good option due to the time taken to and fro from Interlaken.

A stunning drive up the mountain from Interlaken takes about 25 minutes on a clear day, or 15 minutes in a local taxi (a bit scary). The hotel is in a great situation overlooking the valley and the lake. It has a very pleasant restaurant and bar. We had a nice meal and a couple of drinks. The rooms though were a slight disappointment. Woefully out of date seventies decor. Mine was split level with a living room and small kitchen area, spiral staircase to bed area. The bathroom had been refitted and was nicely done but a lack of thought meant closing the shower door was a bit difficult. however it was all very clean! Couple of mystery cupboards marked private in the bedroom??? However as a family base for a holiday fantastic! The living room opened to a small balcony, the bedroom on to a grass area at the rear of the hotel. Trees blocked some of the view but it was lovely to sit out of an evening. I was there for work but would happily stay with the family. Staff were courteous and efficient. Breakfast was busy, but good with cooked to order omelettes. I was working but it made a very pleasant change...

Superb View, Superb Location, Superb Facilities, Superb Staff,
Had one of the best time with family in this hotel, with amazing service, view and location.
We booked the hotel accommodation for a family of 7 and the rooms were comfortable with amazing view.
Thumbs up for all things except one - the size of the common bathrooms are really small to accommodate a person in a distinct manner. Also there was a problem with regards to water overflowing from the wash area to other area and ultimately outside the washroom. But the staff was quick to resolve the issue. Still it would be great if the washroom size is increased and also individual wasroom is given to each room rather then having a common one when one is booking a 3 bed room apartment.

We spent 4 nights in a lovely 56 m2 room at a fantastic price. We were greeted by wonderful staff who listened to our requests even though the hotel was full. The room was very very big and had a great view, no fancy furniture but everything you need in perfect condition. Very quiet rooms, lovely swimming pool and relax area-saunas and steam baths are nudist. Our daughter loved the kids room and the breakfast was amazing, as well as the view of course. We loved the quiet location, with restaurants and even a shop nearby. We definitely recommend it.

It was the second time we stayed in Dorint Beatenberg. Both times we had a wonderful holiday. The first time (2008) we used the hotel service, the room was spacious, the breakfast and meals were copious and tasteful. This year we stayed in the apartment formula. Being a party of six adults we hired the Kanzeli suite ( room 554) and this was a fantastic choice. We had an amazing view on the lake and mountains through the big windows. The apartment was cosy and spacious: large living room (with fireplace, wood provided from the reception), different sleeping rooms, two separate bathrooms (bath and shower). The kitchen was basic but this was enough for us, although we lacked a microwave.
The hotel itself is well kept and the staff very helpful. During winter it is a great advantage that you can enjoy the swimming pool and the different sauna’s, all clean and attractive. Although the hotel is rather large you never have a crowdie feeling. There’s a familiar atmosphere. The price is reasonable for Switzerland and for the service and quality that is offered. Yes, we’ll be back!

Room Tip: Apartment 554 is a good choice for a party of six or more. The higher , the better view.
