“Excellent accommodation for wheelchair users”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2011

We had a wonderful week staying in Hipley cabin. All doorways were wide enough for a wheelchair and there was enough room to wheel around comfortably. One of the two bathrooms is fully accessible with wheel in shower ( shower chair provided on request at no extra charge) and handrails. Felicity and David the owners are very welcoming and go out of their way to help make your holiday stress free. Extra equipment such as profile bed, portable hoist etc. are available on request. The kitchen is the best equipped we have ever experienced if you prefer to eat in. Lots of little extra touches make all the difference. There were fresh flowers in the cabin and welcome food supplies - milk, delicious homemade bread, tea, coffee, and biscuits plus cleaning products including tablets for the dishwasher, toilet rolls, kitchen roll etc. Lovely bathroom toiletries also provided. The cabin was spotlessly clean and beds were made up for our arrival and soft fluffy towels provided. Gorgeous views from the cabin and very quiet and peaceful. We were even allowed to take our dog and the cabin had a fully enclosed patio with large table and chairs for eating outside and a barbecue. We found several very accessible places to visit including Chatsworth House and Gardens, Carsington Water and Tissington Trail. This holiday venue is first class and we will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Depends on your individual needs.

We stopped in Daisy Bank Cabin which was beautifully decorated and very very comfortable and our friends stopped in the nearby Pinder Cabin. Daisy Bank cabin was immaculate, the beds very comfortable and the attention to detail was fantastic. Our hosts David and Felicity had thought of everything, from child steps in the bathroom, a selection of books and DVDs in the lounge and even essentials like a small supply of sanitary products in the bathroom cupboard. The kitchen was also wonderfully stocked, we didn't want for anything. A homemade loaf of bread, fresh farm eggs, milk, cookies and some welcome coffee and tea all awaited our arrival, fantastic after several hours in the car with two small children! The only downer on our time here was a very poorly small child. We're already getting our booking in for next year!

Room Tip: They're all lovely!

If you are thinking of booking a holiday cottage, I cant recommend Hoe Grange enough! If you are looking for gorgeous, clean and very well equipped accommodation in a tranquil area, look no further.
We cycled around Carsington water and on the Peak Trail and walked around the farm and in nearby Bakewell. The children bottle fed the lambs and fell in love with the dogs!
We really had a wonderful time thanks to David and Felicity who were very welcoming and helpful, oh and did I mention the freshly baked (still warm) bread that we had delivered each day?
I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with a holiday here, we will certainly be returning....soon, I hope!

Just spent a weekend at the Hoe Grange; 6 ladies, all with our own horses, Felicity and David couldn't do enough for us and our equine friends, Felicity even took us on a lovely hack so we all could appreciate the Derbyshire countryside. Afterwards David had prepared the hot tub, with candles and we all enjoyed the experience with chilled wine and strawberries.Hoe Grange is ideal if you want to take your horse on hoilday and sleep in luxury at the same same, waking up with your horse almost touching your bedroom window is great!!! We have booked again for nex year!

We just spent an amazing 4 days over Easter. David and Felicity's sense of hospitality was second to none, the kids absolutely loved being on a working farm (lambs' feed a highlight!) and we completely relaxed and slept so well. The bread from Felicity is absolutely amazing. We will come back!

Overall the experience was excellent, I was pleasantly surprised by the easy accessibility to the country side. The staff was very friendly and the pets were also very well behaved.
