This bed & breakfast is in a beautiful and peaceful idyllic location ,and is very clean ..and extremely comfortable . Claire ,Paul and George make you very welcome . and make you feel right at home .The room had everything you need for your stay, and the beds are extremely comfortable .The breakfast certainly set you up for the day you can have cereal fresh fruit and a full english .. and thats all 3 if you wish. The little touches meant so much ..In the morning on your table at breakfast they print out the weather forecast for you and any local events that are on . They even make sure your ok for an evening meal by booking your table at the place of your choice ...I have already rebooked and cannot wait for my return visit

We booked Sliver Ridge purely by chance when we found it on the internet. And it turned out to be absolutley great. Its in lovely location in the middle of the countryside, When we arrived we were met by the proprieters Paul and Claire were very friendly and welcoming. We were immediately shown to our room which we couldn't believe as it looked more like a five star hotel room than a bed and breakfust room. We were then offerd tea and coffee on the lawn which was very pleasant as it was a lovely day. They recommended several local places to eat in the evening and the one we chose which they booked for was again superb. Breakfast was again excellent and set us up for the rest of the day! Altogether a great experience. My only hesitaion in recomending it so highly is that if too many people find out about it we won't be able to book again it so easily again. Just one word of warning, don't trust your satnav to get you to the front door. Ours sent us into a farmyard and we would have needed a bulldozer to complete the rest of the journey. But we rang Paul and Clair who came to our rescue and gave us the correct directions.

A lovely couple running a great B&B in a beautiful location. A friendly welcome awaits you here in this excellent B&B. The room was great and the breakfast wonderful. The hosts were very helpful giving us travel tips around the local area and arranging a table for dinner at a nearby pub. If we get the chance to go back we certainly will.

A friend and I needed a break from London, so we spent a relaxing weekend walking in the Peak DIstrict. Silver Ridge was the perfect base - the hosts were genuinely welcoming and the accommodation was faultless.

The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and modern. No lace or twee paintings, so it would appeal to travellers in their 30s as well as older travellers.

Breakfast was presented and cooked to a high standard. Homemade bread and preserves plus the option of "smoked salmon and scrambled eggs" kept us very happy.

The hosts gave us advice on the local area and offered to book us a table at a local eatery. They also helped give us directions and offered to loan my friend a phone charger when she needed one.

Guests should be aware the B&B is a short drive to the nearest village. This was fine for us (we had a car, and preferred to be in the countryside) but would be harder for those travelling by train or wanting to drink in the evening. Having said that, I imagine the hosts would happily organise a taxi if required.

I highly recommend Silver Ridge!

Me and my girlfriend booked the Silver Ridge for a relaxing Valentine's weekend, and weren't at all disappointed. The area is very nice (especially Matlock Bath which is like a little seaside town in the middle of the country), the room was immaculate, and comes with plenty of little things if you have forgotten to bring anything with you, and the people were amazing! Claire and Paul went above and beyond what was expected and just constantly seem eager to make sure you have a nice time. It makes such a difference to a holiday like this and we're very glad we chose to go there. Would recommend to absolutely anybody.

Our two night stay at Silver Ridge was excellent. We stopped for lunch at the Red Lion on the main road and had a lovely lunch and then somehow missed the turn off, a quick telephone call to Claire soon had us back on track and we arrived before the scheduled check in time which did not prove a problem.

Claire showed us straight to our room and then made us a cup of tea which we had sat in the breakfast area near the open fire with wonderful views of the country side.

The room was immaculately clean as was the rest of the b & b, we had the double room but the door to the single bedded room was open and it was as immaculate as our room. Later in our stay Paul suggested we see the larger room downstairs which is a beautiful size with bed, lounge area and gorgeous bathroom.

Breakfast consisted of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, full English breakfast, toast, juice, coffee or tea. No need for lunch once you've finished!

It was very cold when we were there and I suffered a little in the night failing to take any night clothes! I would have liked a bigger towel for the shower but thats what Im used to. The additions of plentiful tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, a box with things you may have forgotten or may need such as a razor, sellotape, pen were provided along with a torch although there are lights that come on when you are outside. These additions far outweighed my need of a bigger towel. There are books, games and magazines on the upstairs landing if you want to relax.

Claire and Paul were very friendly and welcoming offering information for somewhere to eat and taking time to chat.

We weren't there to sightsee unfortunately but if you want to see the area stay here. Thanks Claire, Paul and George for sharing your beautiful bed and breakfast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Silver Ridge. We had the Oak Suite which is tastefully furnished (the photo of the bed on the web-site is the Oak Suite) and has a lovely large bathroom with underfloor heating. A hearty cooked breakfast with homemade breads and nice fruit options, wood burning stove in the dining room and very snug on a frosty weekend, really friendly and helpful people running the place - all in all, a top flight B&B
