Our vacation included a British Isles cruise along with stays in England and Switzerland afterwards. Our favorite part of the trip was our stay at The Hayloft. The chalet is lovely, the scenery is stunning and the hosts Peter, Kerry, James, Anchor(dog) and Snorkel(cat) are the coolest hosts ever.
We enjoyed unbelievably great dinners and conversation with them two out of the four nights we were there. One night we had traditional Swiss rosti, salad and sausages. The next night we enjoyed a fantastic wild mushroom stroganoff with the best saffron rice ever. Kerry is a great cook. We were so sad that our plans didn't allow us to join them for dinner all of the nights. Our oldest daughter was particularly pleased to find a vegetarian buddy in Kerry. She finally got a meal that wasn't just salad or pasta.
While there, our daughters climbed the Klettersteig via Ferrata. They were only able to do this because Peter and Kerry let them borrow their boots. Extraordinary people! They loved the climb. It was challenging yet doable.
We were sad to leave. We felt as though we were leaving friends. We have all decided that all European trips will include a visit to the Hayloft.
