“Beautiful location, but average accomodation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

Well i am here right now.. I arrived on a saturday after the reception closed. this monday is a holiday here and so 'check-in' formalities will happen only on tuesday!!! I can see the beautiful Alps if i step out and stand in the balcony. Otherwise my room overlooks a tennis court :(
This location is very quiet and serene, perfect for a relaxed holiday. However a few irritants about the resort include:
1. No double bed, only 2 singles joint together
2. Only 1 towel rack and no hooks in the bath room
3. Nespresso coffee maker in the room and then one must buy capsules from the reception which is closed on sundays!!
4. Very minimal wardrobe space for a week of stay even for a couple
5. In-house facilities closed on sundays. So make sure you stock up because everything shuts down by 6:30 pm even outside the premises.

However there are some nice things about the facility:
1. Convenient location with respect to the train station.
2. Restaurants and cafes available within 10 minutes walk
3. Laundry facilities (charged extra) available within the resort

Would i come here again... Maybe...

Room Tip: Even if your membership allows only for a studio, ask for one in the front overlooking the road. Thi...

We were at this hotel through RCI for 7 nights from 5th May 2012. It was a great stay at Castel Club. The highlight is that you can see Alps, lying on your bed through the balcony. The staff was highly helpful. A sentence in the welcome brief was that they attempt to make the stay smooth & comfortable. In case of any irritant stay, Castel club offered to make it smooth. The staff was true to that sentence and whenever we approached, they were not only helpful, but suggested workable solution to any problem. The kitchen facility available was enough. Only suggestion, there could have been double bed in place of two folding single beds. The club is at walkable distance to the Leysin station and the main village.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Apls.

Very nice resort, with big, comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Not much to do up there in the off-season (late April, early May). The views are gorgeous. It is very feasible to drive down to Aigle and Montreux by the lake for dinner and to visit castles (about 30 minutes down-hill) or walk along the lake. I am sure it is a skier's paradise in Winter and a great place for sports when it is warmer and less rainy. Montreux castle is fun to visit and gives you a great historical view of the region including the terrible execution of thousands of women for "witchcraft".

Room Tip: If you are scared of driving up and down the mountain (good roads though), this is not the place for...

This is our third stay at The Castel Club in beautiful fabulous Leysin. We had previously stayed in bigger rooms and this time as the Swiss Franc is a nightmare booked a small studio for two. Wow, what a room! It was great, not small at all. The kitchen area is compact and smart with every utensil you could need and mini dishwasher to boot!
The bathroom has a great shower, and is very smart (bring your own hairdryer though it's out of the Ark).
The beds were singles but pushed together and very comfy with duvets.
The balcony is lovely, lovely flowers, furniture and drinking Swiss wine on an evening sat looking at the hills and countryside was a treat beyond all treats. You can also see the cog railway and the train going up and down once an hour. Loved it.
The staff are great, there are no rules. At the end of the stay you wash up and take out the trash, ok there are no cans recycling but I think that's taken care of at the refuge centre.
It's close to the cake and bread shop, fresh croissants every morning. Yum.
The Co-op is a very short walk away. The prices are ok. The swiss franc was a nightmare whilst we were there and they wanted 49 francs in a shop in Leysin for a tee shirt. That was about 40 quid with the exchange rate... silly money. Needless to say we only ate out twice and were very grateful for the lovely little kitchen at the Castel Club.
The mountain views from the Castel Club are breathtaking, however I did read somewhere you can see Mont Blanc from there - you can see the Dents du Midi which dominate the skyline and a range of snow capped mountains to the left, but unfortunately you need to go to the top of the Berneuse by cablecar to see Mont Blanc! Which is well worth it by the way!

Room Tip: no need to spend a fortune, all the rooms are great but the studio is perfect for 2

I don't think you can get any better than this for this price in the Alps. We had an apartment good enough for 6. The balcony opening directly onto the beautiful Alps, where you could have breakfast in the morning or have a glass of wine to close the evening (and to forget the overpriced swiss restaurants as well as wash down all that delicious cheeeese).
Back to the accomodation it was great, alpine type, with 2 baths and full kitchen. The staff was somewhat helpful but the apart does not provide many services anyways. The washer and dryer were a problem but still a break to be able to do laundry during our european road trip with 3 little kids.
It's close to Montreaux but don't be fooled by the short distance, it will take you 30-40 minutes to get there. The roads are as beautiful as dangerous.
Leysin is a cute pintoresque little ( not so little) town I would go back to soon.

Overall the apartment is good; decent size, functional bathroom with bathtub, well equipped kitchen and gorgeous views of the mountains. Modern, clean and well maintained.
Wi-fi did not worked on our floor during our whole 3 night stay. Also, don't count on the laundry room! It is inly open after 6PM when there is no more staff at the reception to help. The washer's door is tricky and does not open. We then discovered that you have to add money to it in order to open the door. Then our clothes spent 3.5 hours in the dryer and were still damp, so we had to hang them around the room at 1am!
In summary this is a nice and good place, but don't count on the services or on the staff. I think you can probably find a hotel for the same price and you'll have better service.

This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They did not provide enough towels, soap, etc. and then closed their reception on Saturday night through Sunday. We left bottles and cans on the table when we checked out because there were no extra garbage bags. Then I received an aggressive and insulting e-mail from them notifying me that they have charged my credit card 75 swiss francs because I did not clean up the room properly. The hotel is supposed to provide cleaning upond departure as part of the room charge. I am now using my personal time to dispute the charges with my credit card company.
