I stayed at the Hotel Gerbi for 4 nights in July. It's a nice hotel in a nice location. I had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake and the room was nice and large. There are 2 restaurants and a bar on site. There is also a spa area that is shared with the Hotel Alexander. The spa area was nice, but what I didn't like was that it didn't open until 2:00 in the afternoon. One of the days was rainy and it would've been great to go to the spa that day since it wasn't nice outside, but they don't open the facilities until the afternoon. Everyone at the front desk was nice except for the owner. I ran into her several times and she was never friendly. On this particular trip to Switzerland I was suprised at how nice everyone was -- in past trips, people were a lot more formal/private. But on this trip, everyone was nice -- except for this one woman. She always seemed to be too busy to be bothered. Also, keep in mind that the hotel sits on a street, so you will get street noise in the a.m. There's also a public pool across the street and one morning I was awakened by a pack of loud school children lining up outside waiting to go in. Finally, there was a family with kids staying in the room next door and I could hear their conversations coming up through the drain in the bathtub -- weird! But I did like the hotel, the rooms, the on-site restaurant and would stay there again. It wasn't the most memorable hotel experience I've ever had, but it was nice enough to return.
