We have been going to Saas-Fee every Christmas for ten years. Every year, we would have several dinners at La Ferme, and it would always be amazing. Then, we didn't travel to Switzerland for three years. We went back two weeks ago.
La Ferme is not the same.
The premises are unchanged and the staff (new) is very professional and fast, like before.
But the menu offers little variety now, and it the food doesn't taste as great as before.
It is good, ok. But my husband ordered veal, and I had pork - granted, both came with a mushroom sauce. But the same exact sauce, which as a result made it impossible (at least to us) to make a difference between the taste of the veal and the pork. Plus, the sauce just tasted like the instant Knorr sauces that you can buy in the supermarket. I am sure that it had been prepared from scratch by the restaurant, but that is the feeling I got.
Probably we were disappointed only because the restaurant was exceptional in the past - but in any case we lost our excitement to go there.
