“Great Hotel soley for travel from Zurich Airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2009

The hotel is older and a bit dated yet very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful . Internet service was free on your computer in your room with cable connection or on their computers in the lobby. Great for ailine checkin and boarding passes which the hotel satff will print for free. Breahfast is a joke especially when you're charged 15 francs for cereal so just get something at the airport believe it or not. Overall our stay was comfortable nut defintely not a destination spot only for travel to Zurich airport

Drain did not work in shower. Two different people tried to fix it, and they only made it worse. Hair, etc. was all in the tub when they got done. They just left the room and said sorry. Also, the telephone did not work. When they came to fix this, there was a misunderstanding and they started messing with the TV. They turned it to a mature channel while my 14 yr old daughter was watching, and seemed to be oblivious to what they had done. They finally offered to send us to another hotel, but gave us no discount after all this. We had to move to a new hotel at midnight. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

I just checked out of the hotel this morning. For what it's meant to be, there's nothing at all wrong with this hotel, and I would stay there again without hesitation. It's not perfect by any means -- the motor on the heat-air conditioning in my room was a bit loud, and I prefer my down pillows to have a little more substance, but the shower was very good. Friendly service, though I have to wonder what kind of room I nearly had ... When the front desk clerk saw that I was staying two nights instead of one, she gave me "a nicer room." The breakfast buffet is overpriced at 15 Swiss francs, but what in Switzerland is a bargain? The S7 suburban train station (Kloten) is a block away, and the ride into Zurich's main railway station is 15 minutes away. For the price, it's just fine.

We had travelled to Switzerland in May, 2009, my mother, husband and myself. The hotel was really good for a 3 star hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were extremely clean and the matresses were very comfortable. The staff was very warm, helpful and friendly.

The hotel offers free airport - hotel transfers due to the proximity to Zurich airport. Also Kloten train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Hence a Swiss pass comes in handy.

All in all a very good experience.

We stayed here in early June 2009 the last night before flying out of Switzerland. It was a very short walk from the railroad station and provided free shuttle service the next morning to the Zurich airport. The Welcome Inn was very competatively priced compared to other close-to-airport hotels.

The property was a typical modern business type hotel with desk and computer connection. Very spacious clean room with two bathrooms...one with the toilet and a sink, the other with sink and shower. The only annoying problem was that they only provided one little bar of soap for both the sinks.

Tips: Look for the second duvet in the drawer under the clothes cubby...one doesn't fit the bed for two people, find breakfast elsewhere where it's cheaper (if you have the time...it's not included in the room charge).

Summary: Clean, with a bathroom, quiet, we'd stay here again for only one night if they remain cost competative.

...because I had a great experience. Rather than bore you with the background, here is what this hotel offers -
1. free transport to and from the hotel [beware anyone leaving for the airport - there will be a number of pick-ups on the way from other hotels].
2. The food was wonderful in the restaurant, particularly the salad in the Italian restaurant. Didn't have breakfast.
3. Clean rooms, clean bathroom, good shower - a sense of the place being kept well.
4. Very informal staff at reception. I like this. Do your job and keep it simple.

What you see is what you get - a cheap hotel that has good food and clean rooms.

really liked my stay there and will return.

We enjoyed our stay here, having chosen this hotel after reading reasonable reviews about it , and its proximity to the airport and train station. Room was quite small but no smaller than you'd expect from an airport hotel. Great shower and comfy beds.

The train station is just around the corner, which is great if like us you have some time to explore Zurich city. There are also some shops around the hotel and places to get a drink. Opposite the hotel there's a great cafe (fantastic pastries and savoury snacks) - we opted for that instead of having breakfast in the hotel.

Would recommend this hotel if you're in Zurich for a couple of nights, and would definitely stay here again.
