“A comfortable stay with great nature as a plus!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

I have spent 4 nights in this property which was comfortable and relaxing. Thanks to great natural surrounding with low mountain range as well as an absolute fresh and clean air.

The check-in was fine except our two bookings were not grouped despite having booked two rooms at the same time. As a result, we needed to stay in different floors, but it did not really matter most for us, only having wondered the reservations efficiency (rooming list was also provided long before the arrival date.). Apples and bottles of mineral water (still and sparking) were provided complimentary at the reception, anytime, That's a nice touch.

The room was very spacious, comfy, and clean with roomy bathroom and adequate lighting. The view from the room was naturally stunning. It really pictured a stay in the nature that Switzerland is famous for. The quality of sleep was superb as room temperature was perfect.

Despite being located in the vicinity of Zurich, the bus stop is just in front of the hotel and within walking distance (ca. 10 minutes) to Regensdorf-Watt train station to Zurich and Basel. The shopping mall was adjacent to the hotel where you could find some drinks, snacks, and fresh fruits at reasonable prices.

The breakfast spread was very good and so was its quality and taste. The lady manager or supervisor was very friendly and attentive, comparing to the rest of the team. Lunch was good and should try Swiss Rosti.

There were nothing much to do around the area. We ended up leaving the hotel at the early morning and coming back to our room very late. However, my stay was completely pleasant and comfortable as it was not crowded like in the city center (well, in Zurich is not that crowded neither) and the nature was amazing. The hotel also provided a complimentary shuttle to Zurich airport which was very nice and save pennies in your pockets.

I stay here regularly and find the rooms (especially on the 6th floor) well appointed.

The staff are friendly the main restaurant is good - the Thai option is great.

There is a gym and nice areas to go for a run too.

Wifi is acceptable and 4G signal is strong in all rooms.

Main down point is breakfast is not included in the rate.

My colleague and I were at the DWD 2014 event so it made sense to stop at the hotel. Its quite a trek from the airport and cost 55 euros plus a 5 euro tip (yes the taxi drivers will accept Euros). Checkin was pleasant and I was offered a complimentary drink.

My room was on the 4th floor overlooking the hills which was pleasant. The roof itself was a very good size as it contained two double beds. There was a nice desk to work at, bed was mega comfy and a decent bathroom with a good shower. The safe though it too small for a 17" laptop. There was also a minibar which was quite expensive but I still munched on a couple of items. Free complimentary bottled water was provided each day.

The carpet had been cleaned though and was still wet so got soggy socks from it. This was a minor irritation though and meant I had to wear shoes the first night.

We tried the food in the restaurant and it was very good indeed. The lady serving us from Kenya was very friendly and helped us along with the menu and wine choices.

Breakfast was also very good and there was a good selection including a chef cooking up omelette and other egg delights.

The event itself was well supported by the hotel staff who were very professional and friendly. It was a little warm in there though and a bit of air-conditioning would be appreciated.

Highly recommended, even though it is abit out of town, but the restaurant is very good so not really a problem

Hotel is situated in the center of a small Swiss town, Regensdorf. Not much is happening after 2100 during weekdays. So it is quiet at night. During daytime you'll notice that the hotel is situated closeby the airport of Zurich. And the churchbells during daytime. Going to the citycenter of Zurich can easily done by train S6, pluminus 30 minutes. By car the same.

Next to the hotel are some shops, like a little mall.
Also a huge fitnesscenter of 3000 sq meters is connected to the hotel!

Reception staff is very friendly, quick and helpfull. Nice impression of effficiency and cleaness when you enter the hall.
Two elevators. Out of my head, 6 floors. Some rooms (at the outside) are bigger than others, look at the floorplanpicture.

Rooms are a bitt small, around the bed plminus 3 meter by 4 meter. Bathroom is with a good shower and toilet, small but comfy. Clean carpet on the floor, no spots or stains!

Window can be opened. Airco is silent at lowest fan speed and working, minibar (expensive see picture) Huge safe. Bed is 1.40m in width, 2 cushions and comfy, not too hard or soft. Not a blanket but a duvet.

Internet is really good, 67mb/sec. Free for crew. And 6, 220 volt power sockets to load your stuff.
Bar is a bitt sterile, not cousy and expensive as well.
A really good breakfast untill 10.30 weekdays.

Altogether I give it a 7.8 out of 10

Room Tip: small rooms are at the back of the hotel and bigger rooms in the front and thuss situated at the str...

We had a meal in this hotel and were singularly unimpressed - it took AGES for the food to arrive and when it did, I have seldom been so disappointed. I ordered a cordon-bleu schnitzel - oh goodness it was ghastly - meat as tough as old boots and the cheese tastless. I managed only a tiny piece of it - I will say they gave us a 10 franc reduction but I would prefer a decent meal and no refund. My son had Roesti with pork fillet - I had a taste of that and have to say it was not great. Bearing in mind the meals are EXPENSIVE, I would not recommend eating at the Moevenpick. There are little restaurants on the same street which are much better value for money and the food really good.

Room Tip: we did not stay at the hotel (thank goodness)

Dear FionaMacd

Thank you very much for your time you spend for writing this review. First of all I would like to aplogize for this bad experience you had during your visit at the Mövenpick Hotel Zürich-Regensdorf. I can assure you that this is not the way we would like to serve our guests in our restaurants.

I transferred your review already to the responsible managers of the kitchen and restaurant to prevent such incidents in the future. We really hope that you will give us a second chance to show that the name "Mövenpick" still stands for high quality in food and service.

best regards from Regensdorf

This hotel can boast with a perfect breakfast and some really good service. Parking is right under the hotel so just take the elevator to get to the top stairs. I wouldnt take this hotell if my main purpose was to visit Zürich. But when on buisness trip to Regensdorf this is the only hotel i will stay in.

We originally went to the Movenpick, Airport (we had a mixup of understanding in the reservations, our fault). This hotel was expecting a big sports group, yet the staff was very helpful to us. They called the other hotel and the Movenpick Hotel Zurich Reginsdorf sent a van to pick us up. This lobby was completely different than the Airport Movenpick. The Airport hotel was full of people, extremely busy which is fine for the hotel, however, for us who had been in Amsterdam, The Avalon Rhine cruise and three days in Lucerne, we were ready for quiet and a relaxed atmosphere. The young man signed us in quickly and we got to our room which was very large and comfortable. (We were in Room 450). Again, the bed was very comfortable. We were in a two queen room with seating area so it was wonderful to be able to stretch out. We were able to access free Wi Fi. This hotel included the full breakfast which was outstanding. Such a wonderful perk. We got to Zurich too late to take advantage of any city tours; we flew out the next morning, but the staff would have helped us book a tour for the next day. Again, the van took us to the airport. Great service. Be sure to register for the van. We walked a few blocks in the neighborhood after arriving and ate lunch at a local eatery at a shopping center that was near by. For dinner we ate at Chia, an Italian restaurant which was quite good. The regular restaurant was also serving.
