I is a 50 minutes walk from the railway station Morteratsch of the Bernina railway to the end of the glacier. On the way you can learn about the glacier and you can find out how much smaller this glacier became since 1876 (when the end was close to the railway station).
The path goes slightly up the entire long until the end of this huge glacier. You can get some information about the Morteratsch glacier path from the Pontresina Tourist office -http://www.pontresina.ch/en/summer/freizeit/bildung-umwelt/lehrpfade/gletscherlehrpfad.html - . There is also a path up to the Bovan hut from where you can walk on the glacier. We did not do that.
