“Very good family hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

We stayed at the Hotelsport having stayed elsewhere in Klosters. The hotel is very clean and the food and service are both excellent. The bus stops outside the hotel but when the Madrisa is closed the buses are a bit irregular...you need the timetable! The family rooms mean that children can be close by.
The only downsides are that it is a little dated in decor and one is charged for tap water at dinner.
we would certainly return to this hotel and highly recommend it as a family hotel.

Location & amenities

The location is central, only 50 meters away from bus stop which takes you to Madrisa skiing area and Klosters Platz (railway station). The environment is very quiet without any noise of trafic. The hotel creates a relaxing atmosphere. The hotel has nice breakfast facilities and a very tasty breakfast. We also hs a half-board which was local and tasty. It also has good facilities for sport oriented vacation; sauna, swimming pool, whirlpool etc. The cosy fire place at the reception is very charming,

Service

The service was very friendly and very personal. You real felt like beeing their guest. The front desk persons (3-4 different) were very helpful and had ideas what to do , if you would prefere to have guidance.

The room

We had their family room which was roomy enough and had a spacy enough bathroom and separate WC. The interior made the room very cosy. The interior itself is not trendy. It is matter of taste whether you like it or not. The room was spotless as well as the whole hotel.

We liked best: hotel atmosphere (the whole amenities), friendly service, central location.
There was not anything really to complain and we can certainly recommend the hotel. We would definetly come back. The price/quality ratio is excellent.

We just spent 1 night in the Sport hotel. Advantages: excellent service / welcome, spotless hotel and room, cosy fire place at the reception, bus stop right in front of the hotel, so perfect to access the lifts in Klosters. Some improvements could be done on the decoration (very old fashion) and the dinner (looked like a very average cantine cuisine). But the highlight is certainly the great service and the nice personel. Quality price is certainly difficult to beat in Klosters or in general in Swiss Alps.

We booked 2 rooms with this hotel months ago but when we arrived we were told that they had accepted a booking from a group which meant that we were turned away to another hotel. If this is the hotel's policy then there's no point in booking.
Also, there was no management present and they left it to 2 young girls, one of whom had no real english,to take the flack!

I stayed at this hotel recently for about nine days. It was great! The rooms are clean and have everything you need. The service is excellent. For English speakers - everyone speaks excellent English. This hotel is perfect for a sports stay, whether its mountain or road biking, tennis, hiking etc..

Pluses to the hotel include two red clay tennis courts on site. There is also laundry available. Wireless is available in the lobby. The hotel breakfast is very good and the service is excellent. Half board is an option. I did not do this but I did eat dinner at the hotel a couple of times and found it to be quite good. There is an a la carte menu available.

The only downside is that the hotel is just a bit out of town. However, the bus (free) stops right in front of the hotel. You can also walk from downtown to the hotel - not that bad at all.

All in all a great place and I highly recommend it.

We arrived early in the season and the Hostels where either closed or too far. We got a half priced room at The Sport hotel, but had to share the bathroom and shower (not the main rooms for this place). The hotel is about a 20 minute walk cfrom the center of town, but comes with a free bus pass for your entire stay (w/bus stop right in front). The room was very clean and comfortable, and staff was very friendly. The hotel also allows you free access to almost every amendity they have, which includes free internet, pool, whirlpool, mini-golf, ping-pong, etc. We were in the low season and did not have many other guests with us and hence they could not offer lunch or dinner, but they did include a free breakfest, which was better then most of your standard EU type breakfests.

  • Disliked — Location out of town
