I recently stayed at the Panorama hotel in Cochem, with my husband and a friend of ours. It is not right in the middle of town, so you have a 15 minute walk to get to where everything is, so if you want to be out of the way a little, this is a good choice. We stayed in the Apollo House which was just beautiful!! The swimming pool looked very inviting, unfortunately, none of us brought our swim suits. They have a bar/lounge in the Reception area, that is really nice. You can order drinks from the bar, and then take them over and relax in the large couch area. They also have 2 cupboards full of board games, and a chess table, for your entertainment too. The rooms were kind of small, but we are finding out that is just part of being in Europe. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were very clean. We had a very nice view of the Mosel, and the castle from our own balcony. Since it is so close to winter, not alot of the restruants in town were open, so we ate at the hotel rest. The Sehler Mark, and we were very glad that we did!! My husband said that it was the best schnitzel that he ever had!! The food, and the waitstaff were terrific!! You get a breakfast buffet in the morning of the usual European stuff, cereal, breads, meats and cheeses, and they will also make you eggs of your choice or waffles, that was also very good. All in all, we were very happy with our stay at the Panorama hotel, and are planning on going back again in the summer!!
