“picturesque alleys”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2011

The picturesque alleys and squares are clustering around the late-Gothic St. Nikolaus Church. The houses are close to the Eiermarkt and the former Town Hall, already in 1608 the market was held at this location. A monument created in 1903 by sculptor Robert Cauer the younger depicts how anno 1279 the brave butchers master Michel Mort saved the Counts von Sponheim in the battle of Sprendlingen. On the Eiermarkt house number 14 was the 15th century town house located which in 1849 unfortunately completely was destroyed by fire.
