Great hotel with a very kind and helpfull staff. Very good breakfast, for example, they serve boiled eggs but on your request they make a stirred or fried egg for you.

Below i say yes to fitnesscentre, they don't have one of their own but they offer entrance in the fitness / welness centre nearby ( not with every arrangement )

If you are looking for a very good offer with excellent relation between price and quality, Hotel Am Wartturm is an option you must consider.
I have had the opportunity to stay at Am Wartturm hotel for business traveling during considerable time, and as stated before, this crew and administration represent an outstanding service offer, not only friendly but very professional people gather to make you feel at home, even if you are miles away from it.

Nice hotel - we needed somewhere near Holiday Park and this was about 15 mins away. Great reception on arrival, got offered an upgrade to a lower (cooler) floor but had to pay extra. McDonalds and bowling just around the corner and a quick 5-min drive into Speyer. Breakfast was typical cold continental affair but loads of choice. Toaster not working.

We were glad to have booked one of the larger "comfort" rooms: it was just big enough. Nicely furnished and with an ok bathroom in which the shower was nice and powerful.

The staff were always friendly and helpful, going out of their way to research tourist spots and spas for us. They also cheerfully lent us towels to take to the spa.

Breakfast was generous and tasty with a very good selection for a small hotel. This included excellent bircher muesli and a wide choices of teas.

The situation is on a fairly quiet, mainly residential road about 10 minutes drive from the Old Town, where you can park at Feldstat car park for €2. Parking at the hotel itself is easy in its own car park or outside if the car park is full.

it is just 3 minutes drive from the hotel to the motorway network and hence easy to get to nearby tourist spots.

We had an extra piece of luck in that Speyer's annual festival was taking place the weekend when we were there. This was huge fun. The full length of Speyer's main street was converted into a giant outside restaurant with perhaps 25 different food and drinks vendors, plenty of beer, spit roasts and barbecued fish and meat. Many of the locals dressed in medieval costume and there was music and street entertainment. It happens in August and if you are planning on visiting the area at that time of year, it is well worth looking out for.

Very impressed with our night here. Our room was very modern with better quality fittings than most hotels of this price e.g. state of the art TV and lamps that were touch sensitive. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we had a great value breakfast.
It's probably about 3km to the old part of the city, but we found it a pleasant walk - and if you come by car it's very accessible.
